Record-breaking divers are pushing human limits and reshaping scientists' view of our species
Humans have a long history of diving to forage from the seabed and today elite freedivers are reaching greater depths than ever. Some researchers argue humans belong in the sea.

The outlook for the Caspian Sea under climate change is concerning, with potential to impact the lives of millions of people living around its shores & beyond, as well as threatening its unique biodiversity. This new study analyses the risks & possible responses 🧪🌏 www.nature.com/articles/s43...
A composite infographic image representing a graphical abstract for a paper on the environmental impacts of climate change driven water level declines on the Caspian Sea, Court et al. 2025, published in the journal Communications Earth and Environment. It shows photographs of Caspian seal habitats affected by sea level decline, satellite images showing coastal recession, a map of marine protected areas at risk due to waterlevel decline, and a plot of reductions in marine protected area coverage under decline scenarios ranging from -2.5m to -17.5m.

It also includes the text "Global warming is predicted to drive water level declines in the Caspian Sea, the world's largest inland waterbody, of up to 21 metres by 2100. Maps projecting how the sea bed will eb exposed indicate that reductions of just 5 to 10 metres will threaten key ecosystems, reduce coverage of existing marine protected areas by up to 94% and may compromise civil and industrial infrastructure."

Ireland’s Prime Minister Simon Harris called Israel’s decision to close its embassy in Dublin part of Israel’s “diplomacy of distraction,” intended to deflect attention from “what Netanyahu is doing to the innocent children of Gaza.” He said Ireland remains committed to human rights and int’l law.

This article says “Both by drawing an erroneous (and offensive) equivalence with Northern Ireland and Palestine”. Like stop. Here’s a quote from a high Ranking British colonial officer who helped to found the place. There’s no false equivalence.Do some research. Talk to a historian t.co/l68x1bDXIN

In 1607 there was a serious proposal to King James, that Ulster should become the Jewish Homeland, instead of colonising it with Scottish Protestants. False equivalence my arse
