My take on Young Link from the og teaser was a bit off, but it was fun to see the proper trailer today. I’m not sure what I think about it so far. It’s very maximalist! One thing I do love though is how young Link looks like my son ❤️.

It’s not something I’ve done personally, but the other good thing about working on your own project is that in theory you could crowdsource it once you’ve reached a certain point too.

I honestly don’t have a proper strategy with social media, I just post at times in the day that are likely to have a lot of active users, that’s about it. I don’t think it’s worth jumping through all of the hoops,I just try and focus on the art really.

It might just be me, but I’ve been able to maintain full time freelance work over the years mostly through social media being my primary contact. I’m honestly doubtful that will be sustainable going forward, which is going to be a pain 😅.

Agreed. I have no idea why I’m having recent luck on IG though. I don’t do reels, I don’t post regularly, I’m generally confused and I expect it to fail again for me at some point soon 😅

If you’d like advice (please feel free to ignore): if you struggle to find clients make your own projects instead (if you’re in a position to do so). Not only can you show potential clients fully completed projects but you can also sell them. For example, make your own card game.

That’s great to hear. Personally I’ve had to shift from Bsky, unfortunately, but I’m glad that it is possible! I’ve started to have a lot of good experiences on Instagram, somehow!? I hate Meta and ideally would want to avoid it, I completely agree X sucks, but I did love Twitter 🥲.

For me. Instagram seems to be working a lot better (unfortunately), and previously Twitter was great… Bsky on the other hand doesn’t seem to work for me, which is a shame.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the most important piece of media of my childhood. It was one of the core motivators for me wanting to pursue art as a career. With the latest teaser trailer for the remake I felt compelled to make some fan art, exploring how young Link could look in my style.
