Although rare in the south of the uk I was delighted to find chrysomphalina grossula, green navel, for the second time this year in Bernwood forest. Both times on old ,mossy stumps, probably spruce. #fungifriends #mycology #naturephotography

Chuffed to find this small, unusual earth star in Oxford park. Either geastrum floriforme, daisy earth star, or astraeus hygrometricus ,barometer earth star. Due to differing thickness in the flesh, the rays fold over to protect the spore sac as it dries. #fungifriends #mycology

Nobody seems to be able to id for certain so I will try to collect one for further study, Oxford #mycology #fungifriends #ukwildlife

2024 was variable for fungi around Oxford, but the lack of boletes etc meant discovering different species. This was an interesting one found under yew in an Oxford cemetery, sowerbyella radiculata #FungiFriends #FungusFriends #ForestFloor #mycology
