We could never find the original attribution for this. The person who had shared it with me (10-15 years ago) says he doesn’t know where he got it!

Spending three days supporting our son and seeing five different musicals at Ohio Light Opera, including the rarely performed Bitter Sweet (1929, Noel Coward) and Tip Toes (1926, Gershwin). Plus the 1881 Patience by Gilbert & Sullivan!

Pupils mostly equal size again! Our pediatric neurosurgeon suggested adding salt to her feeds. (Very on brand!) Didn’t do that but Zoey seems to be a bit better tonight. Pretty sure she’s going to lose her front leg through. (There’s no tone in it)

My wife found an injured kitten in the middle of a major road near our home this morning. She’s got at least one broken leg, head trauma, and eye and ear infections, and the vet is working on her. We named her Zoey because of all the life in her.

Sally Lightfoot crab. Juveniles are brown to blend in with rocks (main predator are birds). The main predator for adults are octopuses and so adults are bright red since red is first color to disappear in the water

Clever Hans was a horse in the early 1900’s who could answer any question asked of him. Along with his owner, Wilhelm von Osten, he drew large crowds in Germany and was even covered in the NY Times. timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachine...

Unforgettable trip to the Galapagos with National Geographic. Fulfills a dream I’ve had since childhood. Pictures don’t do it justice, but there may be no better place on earth to photograph animals and the beauty of nature. Gonna post one every day for awhile.

The most important thing we do in the ICU is support these families through the dying process. I’m continually blown away by the generosity, compassion and caring these families give back to us!
