Like yoga, "philosophy is the sort of practice that is open to anybody who is interested in participating". I like this analogy: it's open to everyone, but doesn't mean we're all as good at doing it as others. But everyone can improve with practice.

My blog piece is currently on the front page of the APA Blog! I argue that the practice of having chicks in primary schools isn't just bad for chicks (which is plenty bad enough). It's also bad FOR CHILDREN, pulling against some core educational aims. Link in comments. ⬇

My son (11yo) likes to be given LEGO tasks. Yesterday, I told him to 'make me a philosopher in the style of The School of Athens for my office at the university.'
