Epsom Chamber Choir gave one of the first ever performances of 'Beloved' by Helen Williams, so it is doubly good news that they are singing it again on November 7th 2026 in a Song of Songs programme. @epsomchamberchoir.org.uk
Artwork by Chris Hyde showing flowers and foliage, with text from the Song of Songs, 'Rise up, my love, and come away' and 'The time of singing is come.'

With summer feeling like a distant memory, we’re excited to start rehearsing for our upcoming concert on 7th November and to welcome our NEW conductor, @patrickallies.bsky.social.
Patrick Allies wearing a dark jacket and an open necked white shirt stands on a sandy path with the green of trees in the background and looks directly at the camera. Is he smiling? Possibly.

I love this story. A deaf Kenyan teenager wrote a poem about climate justice, that became a song, and is now a video, and hopes to inspire churches to take legal action against banks who fund fossil fuels. Wow! Great work from @oikoumenewcc.bsky.social www.oikoumene.org/news/music-v...

In case anyone's interested, here are some pics of the children's altar and "follow-along" liturgy board.
A small table with a red cloth on it. There are two wooden candlesticks with LED tealights on them, a wooden cross and a children's Bible. The background shows a church with pews and a stained-glass window.A table in a church with a red cloth on it. On the table is a corporal, wooden cross and candlesticks, a wooden chalice and ciborium, a wooden patent and a wooden priest's wafer. There are bells on the table.A corkboard with the heading "Our liturgy board". It's divided into squares with headings such as "confession", "readings", and "Eucharist". This was an inspiring concert on Saturday, with an imaginative selection of music, prepared with care and performed with talent. A resonant venue at St Paul's Knightsbridge and a lavish complimentary programme provided the gift-wrapping.

Guildford Cathedral evensong on Sunday night offered the joy of hearing John Bawden conduct in his farewell season with the Cathedral Singers, coupled with the sorrow of prayers mourning Bishop Andrew and the Dean"s sermon about standing up to the horrors of war.

Still feeling pleased with my wheel of liturgical colours. At the top, 12 o'clock, is pink for Gaudete Sunday. Coming seasons are on the right, with the recent past at 10 and 11. #CofE #ChoralSky #Gaudete canossa.co.uk/seasons.html

Oooh the other thing I must must do today is choose and organise music for Vicars' Chorale If you're a clerge in/near London and love choral singing, don't get to do it because of church commitments, and want to join a small group on Monday night to sing through some polyphony, DM me for details.

We went to Pulborough Brooks (@rspb.bsky.social) to hear the nightingales. We heard a cuckoo within seconds of stepping through the entrance from the bus stop. I saw the first avocet of my life and heard the nightingales, but this stork was easier to photograph.

My ideal #feed would show me skeets from follows that only post occasionally ahead of those that post a lot. Nothing against the frequent communicators but I don't want to miss hidden gems from quiet friends. Any suggestions before I learn how to do it myself?
