Welp, its rare i make a post here anymore, but today I did a write-up on my tumblr blog about an ai-generated #toontown fanserver i found, and i thought it'd be nice to post what i found here as well. These are screenshots of the post, with alt text included to make things a bit more readable 1/4

First of all, let me preface by saying PLEASE proceed with caution if you plan on trying this out. While i cannot fully confirm if there is true malware within here, it is incredibly worth being careful anyways thanks to the site itself being ai-generated, which isn't really a great sign. Keep your computer safe!

This is Toontown Beyond - a seemingly fully ai-generated fanserver, with some... possibly malicious code in its launcher, according to virustotal!

Below the text, it displays an ai-generated image of Flippy Doggenbottom holding a clapperboard, pointing at the viewer with a Big Wig, Robber Baron, and Mr. Hollywood off to the side. In the center, the text reads: "ToonTown Beyond", with a button below, that states "PLAY NOW"

The text underneath the image reads:
as you can see, the website's images seem to be entirely ai-generated, and i will point out aspects of that below.

I discovered this whilst looking for UK-exclusive Toontown artwork, so that's fun.

Continued from image 1, this image begins going into detail of the telltale signs of generative ai being used to create the image....

It reads:
First off.... if you'd like more proof that the image is generative, here's some closeup shots of aspects of the image.

Below it shows up of Flippy Doggenbottom, looking quite off, missing fingers, and having weird shading on his eyes.

The text below reads:
Flippy's ear is not attached, and he only has two fingers on his right hand. not to mention his.... strange mouth and eyes which are more wobbly than my own damn artwork, and i'm known for having shaky hands!

The next section of the post, showcasing another part of the image. This time, it focuses in on the clapperboard Flippy holds, with distorted text all over.

The text below reads:
the clapperboard itself is filled with distorted text... it seems flippy is on 'yake' 8, and 'arxe' 2 of his production... on top of that, said production doesn't even have a fuckin name!

Finally, the post focuses in on the cogs themselves, who's suits don't seem to be showing any legible emblems...

The text reads:
the cogs themself already look strange, but once you zoom in... you notice their emblems are, uh..... yeah.

But that is not the end of it. I went through the website, and even downloaded the game to run through virustotal!

Good news: Nightlife Expansion Pak AND NightLITE have been updated, and the Cog HQs affected by the newest part of Toontown Remastered have been restored and fixed. The building with the handles in DDL also now has correctly-sized handles, AND the correct window type! // #ToontownRewritten

......so apparently the composer is claiming he tracked them by hand but the sound data compared with fan midis says otherwise. i will simply stfu and just take his word for it, but by god the midis are identical outside of channels being moved around

in #toontownrewritten, before version 3.0, when field offices were released, there was a mechanic where lure could stack on top of one another, meaning if you used two hypno goggles you would get 10 rounds of lure instead of the usual 5. [1/3]

currently at work attempting to fix up Expansion Pak before the game goes down for maintenance. Here's the progress with Lawbot HQ! i had to unfortunately retexture the CJ statue, as it would look REALLY bad if i used the low resolution ones on him. i will list off what needs to be fixed below:

new #toontown update dropped, and a neat change is that they've finally remastered parts of LBHQ & BBHQ that have been left un-touched up for quite awhile now. Super exciting, but that means i've got to get in there and do some proper testing after fixing the areas for Nightlife Expansion Pak!

tbh, now that im mostly done with nightlife expansion pak, i want to spend some time cleaning it up and adding minor tweaks. one thing id love to do is make variants of songs for the phases of bosses as well as for the silly meter. i did that with a few of the facility bosses, but not the FO yet!

i have made a new toon named Batwing, who will become a partial black cat in october 🎃🦇 I have discovered that i apparently make a mental note of which toon colors i use, and avoid using them in future toons, hence why he is not just an altered version of a pre-existing black cat xD

i feel like one thing us creative #toontown players really never incorporate into our stories with our toons is the type of vehicles they drive. we literally have kart racing and yet i have never seen anyone bring it up in their creative works ...my kart shows i am VERY jobless, however. xD

one of the most charming things for me about #toontown is that although it's soundtrack was composed as MIDIs, you can tell it was played by hand. imo this adds so much authenticity to game's whole oldschool energy it has, from the toons themselves to the setting. will share pics in next reply
