In my spare time I’ve been learning ASL to (hopefully) incorporate some disability-friendly choreography into Pash’s dancing. 🕺 But based on sign grammar, I’m a little unsure of the order if the dance is meant to be lyrical translation vs. an educational tool. I gotta find a deaf buddy to ask. 🤔

Easier said than done, I know!!! 😭 But it’s an important talk. Write it out if it’s easier. Family should NEVER make you consistently miserable. Mistakes happen, but unconditional love demands accountability and change. And if she can’t, you can walk away. You owe your parents nothing for being born

You can acknowledge how your decisions make HER feel and assure her you take that into account with the decisions you make. But ultimately, to be healthy you need to take care of your emotional needs first, not hers or anyone else’s.

NOT her. Sometimes what you need is to be away from them so that on the next family event, you can be fully present and available. Asking more of you is hurtful and leaves room for resentment to fester if you’re forced to do things you can’t and guilted for not performing. Tell her to stop 😬

It’s bc they still see you as a dependent, incapable child and therefore their house rules and expectations are more hammered down on you. Your siblings are Normal Adults who they can’t tell what to do. Your parents (or at least mom) don’t respect you. It’s ok to set a firm boundary with her, like—
