Great day of learning and catching up at the SCIS School Librarians Conference. Thanks all for interesting and engaging presentations! Tagging those I know here: @scottishaialliance.bsky.social @scottishbooktrust.bsky.social @fairweatherdr.bsky.social @dmcmenemy.bsky.social PLUS - it was sunny!

Just a reminder that the books we call "children's books" are really books written for an audience that includes children, but excludes absolutely no-one at all. They are BOOKS FOR EVERYONE - and you can never, ever be too old to read them, and to love them!

Today marks five years working in the #SchoolLibrary. From Library Assistant to Senior Library Assistant to Senior Librarian. Good to get out of my head of the day-to-day and reflect on this journey - I think I'm quite proud.

As anxious as I might get about going back to work I always remind myself this time of year that the #library is a safe haven for several students. There might also be many students who did not have a calm & relaxing break, going back to school is a huge relief to many.

New year, new ideas: #SchoolLibrarians share your favourite #SchoolLibrary and #LibraryLesson activities and initatives so we can all benefit from a bit that elusive mid-winter, start-of-a-new-term #inspiration! Please and thanks! Signed, a school librarian with the Sunday scaries :)
