Steller’s Sea Cow was the largest member of order Sirenia, with an estimated length of 7.5m (24.6ft) (Forsten & Youngman 1982). Other members of Sirenia include dugongs and manatees (which can be distinguished from one another by their tails). #2026MMM

Next Up: 4-seed Cape Buffalo (Syncerus caffer caffer) vs. 5-Seed MALAYAN TAPIR (Tapiris indicus) #2025MMM
Photograph of a scene focused on a large, central buffalo staring at the camera with other buffalo in the background. The ground area is dusty. Side profile of a Tapir in front of short green plants and grasses and rocks. The tapir is facing left and is mid-gait, with its snout curled towards its body. The tapir has a characteristic black body with white extending over the middle of the abdomen to the hindquarters of the animal.

Next Up: 5-seed Malayan Tapir (Tapirus indicus) vs. 12-seed Southern Luzon Giant Cloud Rat (Phloeomys cumingi) #2025MMM
Adult tapir steps into concrete wading pool with its front feet on a step and head bent towards the water and back feet on grass. The Malayan Tapir has short, black fur covering its front feet and shoulders, extending through its head, but has black ears with white fur on the very tips. The Tapir's hind legs are black, but has white fur extending from below its front legs, through its abdomen and upper rear legs, and ending along the very back portion of its haunches.
