On Friday, we co-hosted an event at #ScotLab25 on the need for collaboration between the UK and Scottish Governments for a Scotland free from poverty. Many thanks to @miriambrett.bsky.social, @mrsemmajacko.bsky.social, @pfokane.bsky.social and @kirstymcneill.bsky.social for joining our panel. 🧵

We need our governments to work together to build a future beyond poverty! Meet us at Scottish Labour conference fringe to talk about how. 📆 Fri 21 Feb 🕔 5pm 📌 Alsh 2
Collaboration for a Scotland free from poverty

In our wealthy nation, it’s unjust that so many people don’t have adequate incomes for a decent and dignified life.

We know that collaboration between Governments will be needed to build a Scotland free from poverty.

As we look ahead to the 2026 Scottish Parliament elections, join us to explore how we can make that collaboration a reality and what action we need to see in the Scottish Labour manifesto to get us closer to a Scotland free from poverty.
Scottish Labour Conference Fringe
Friday 21 February, 5:30pm, Alsh 2

With:
Kirsty McNeill MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Scotland
Paul O’Kane MSP, Spokesperson for Social Justice, Social Security and Equalities

And speakers from:
Future Economy Scotland, Citizens Advice Scotland and the Poverty Alliance

In her new blog, our Chloe Campbell says we can build a fairer, greener Scotland, free from the injustice of poverty - if our political leaders make a fundamental change in the way they look at our society. #ScotBudget www.povertyalliance.org/blog-msps-ca...
“For far too long, we’ve been suffering the effects of failed, unjust economic policies that leave too many people on low wages, inadequate incomes, and insecure work. And to make matters worse, the public foundations that we all rely on have been stripped of investment... the next
Scottish Budget can mark a turning point.” Chloe Campbell, Policy & Parliamentary Officer,
