Decided it was time to build a new mechanical watch. I was careful to watch my steps, tick each box. Thought I messed up for a second, but in the end I had to hand it to myself… it wound up looking pretty good!

This is by far the neatest book I own. Egyptian Grammar, third edition by Gardiner. Published 1973.

A page showing the casual writing style and formal hieroglyphic styles for different dynasties.

A chapter on "The Divisions of Time and Method of Dating," discussing the measurement of time (365 days, divided into 12 months of 30 days), with translations to hieroglyphics.

Sample writings exercises to study that show passages in both English and hieroglyphics.

Some vocabulary for words like "see", "ferry across", "rejoice", "son", "daughter", and others, with an exercise for transliteration.

Why yes, I should use D3.js. BUT I now have experience writing code to generate a SVG containing a multi-segment donut graph with different inner and outer radiuses, uniform gaps around segments, and minimum segment sizes. Bonus: "Maximum Donut."

Three donut graph SVGs, each with three segments. The first, "Standard", shows a donut graph with an inner radius half the size of the outer radius, a 50% segment, 33% segment, and 17% segment. The second, "Minimum Donut", show the same but with a minimum donut graph and maximum inner radius. The third, "Maximum Donut," shows no inner radius.

One of my personal all-time favorites. This was not an eggcelent poker hand.
