Over in The Bad Place it’s Day 42 of my futile one-woman crusade to keep real images popping up on your feed rather than AI. It’s getting colder so here’s the Peak District looking as wintery as i’ve ever seen a few yrs ago. Silver Birch covered in snow and hoar frost at first light. Magic!

Standing at the top of Millstone Edge the view in front of us sprawls out back down the hill towards Padley Gorge. The whole valley is in winters grip, snow that fell days ago has been frozen in place and hoar frost covers the many Silver Birch trees that exist in the valley. This goes on as far as the eye can see.

It’s just after sunrise and the warm glow of early light casts across the tree tops, turning the top half of the frame a rose pink, contrasting with the cooler tones of lower land not yet touched by the light. Mist is drifting over the landscape, finding its way out of the Hope Valley.

There is a flow to the scenery as the bigger tree on the left grabs our attention and the eye swoops down the line of birch. There is no one around. Just you and the magic of a winter morning. There is a crispness to the air and you cannot believe what you’re seeing. A reminder that winter can be incredibly beautiful.

There are stories popping up all over the place about people now regretting their votes, as they learn that trump's tariffs or deportation policies will DIRECTLY affect them. "Oh, you mean WE pay the tariffs?" "But I'M not a criminal." Alas, my field of fucks is barren. I have not ONE to spare.
