Now that the Cubs are done, and the Bears only play once a week: Time for some Blackhawks hockey

What a sad ending to this Cubs season. Just so so bad

Congrats to my Sox fan friends. You have a very special team and it’s only going to get better.

I had the Cubs at 90 wins going into this year. They finished with 89. I was one off the win total, but boy there were so many things I did not foresee this season. Good or bad.

So much can happen in a postseason. And the Cubs will have their chance. But man this feels like such an uphill battle.

Every year the Vikings come to Soldier Field and win while doing the absolute bare minimum

Ben Johnson deserves some heat this week. Love the dude but he didn’t have a good day at the office.

With tonight’s win, the 2026 Cubs became only the 15th Cubs team to win at least 86 games since 1946. (H/t @chifanpatt.bsky.social)

Shota Imanaga has been great this month

What a joke of a bullpen. Wasting a great team. You don’t get these seasons back.

Last night on @BleavNetwork in #Cubs I discussed PCA continuing to make more history, and also compared his likely MVP campaign to Kris Bryant’s in 2016. Give it a listen, sub, and share! open.spotify.com/episode/6nwOww…

Bears with 59! Ground game looked great today!

Really hitting me now that Bears season starts tomorrow. Expectations haven’t been this high in a very long time. There’s no more honeymoon phase, or “hey look at us!” It’s do or do not. And this team knows that.

D’Andre Swift from week 5 in Washington onward rushed for 900 yards in 12 games. 5.4 Y/A. 5 games of 90+ yards. Oline improved, he was hitting the holes faster and accelerating in stride. Give him his credit, he was very valuable last year. Ben Johnson made the most of him.

-Have the likely MVP -Said likely MVP is having arguably the best season in franchise history -One of the most explosive offenses we have seen -Might have the best D in the Statcast era -Spent money this offseason -Made moves at the deadline Yet one Achilles' heel...

Never tell me college is better than the NFL

PCA fan club being made up of Caleb Williams, Caleb Wilson, and Matas is the coolest thing ever

Here’s my thing on the Cubs bullpen: Injuries hurt (pun) this year. In the rotation, especially. They had to ramp that up at the deadline. Healthier rotation = more focus on the pen. Relievers are fickle. But man I wish they could develop more (healthy) arms from within.

Alex Patt @chifanpatt.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

There isn’t a single reliever I trust right now. Not one.

Alex Bregman has two hat tricks this year. He also has eclipsed Kyle Tucker’s total from last year. Bregman is now slugging .440 on the year, after spending much of it in the .300 range.

Alex Patt @chifanpatt.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

We blinked and Alex Bregman has 22 homers. So much fun

This pitching staff is just not good enough

7/10 against the Brewers coming up. Yeah, cool.

I think having Jacob Webb as a closer for much of the season is a tough ask. He can rebound, but that’s not his typical role. Palencia has stuff, had a successful run for much of 2025. But not quite the “shutdown” level we want, imo. xERA/FIPs in the 3s is a high for a closer.

You can’t lose that game. Unreal.

Kevin Gausman was phenomenal tonight. That is the guy the Cubs traded for. He nailed that fastball down in the zone all night and stayed in complete control. I would argue that was the best start by a Cub this season.

I believe in Ben Johnson and Caleb. Unfortunately I think the Bears roster has a lot of flaws.
