It’s amazing what DNA can uncover. Stories and secrets that were carefully carried to the grave can sometimes find their way back into the light. And you’re right, I suspect there are far more stories like this hidden within our family trees than we will ever know.

I love this. A simple signature in the front of a book, written 44 years ago, becomes the thread that leads you back to a woman whose story might otherwise have been forgotten. That’s what I love about genealogy sometimes the smallest clues lead us to the most interesting stories.
