I'm also hearing "we need to elect a younger person with fresh ideas!" Our gubernatorial candidate ages are 37, 40, 47 & 56. Only 3 years & 10 years separate the youngest of them from the next 2. Even the oldest is a full generation removed from our retiring governor, so this argument is just BS.

Sheldon Whitehouse painted a picture that's easy for people not following closely to understand: of Blanche as a thief who's forced to return some of jewels he stole. Returning them doesn't qualify him to run the enforcement agency. This is the way Democrats need to talk to be understood.
