not only do I have the pleasure of being a mod for @restoftheirdays.bsky.social , I got to write for it too! 💙💚 get ready for all the first-time parents dimileth feels. I have a secret to share: our zine is shaping up to be 400+ pages long 🤭 goes to show how passionate the dimileth community is!!!

lyra’s fic preview for the rest of their days: dimileth zine.

Dimitri doesn’t hear a word that is being spoken to him from any lord present for dinner. They prattle on and on about everything from the quality of their land’s soil to the brothels that they frequent. The king stopped listening after the latter was being discussed, from both disinterest and disgust. Not to mention the fact that his distractingly gorgeous wife is seated next to him, feeding their daughter under his cloak.
Byleth’s eyes are languidly closed, her head resting against the back of the chair, and smiling at every muffled coo that Gwyn lets out from time to time. The scene is reminiscent of the grand, ethereal paintings and statues that Dimitri saw as a boy when visiting an Adrestian museum— of the strength and beauty of women and motherhood.

Blurb reads: I've been shipping Dimileth since Dimitri offered to show Byleth around at Garreg Mach. I love this ship and all the fluff and angst it offers!

Excerpt from "Break Time":
It captivated him. The way the lights reflected on the water. The soft breeze suggested by the trees and signage. The eyes that matched, as if mirroring the lights, looking at the picture of countless flowers on a bright spring day. The smile that was…
"Mesmerizing…"
"Hm?"
"The picture. The sight looks mesmerizing."
Her smile made the warm hues of the room feel brighter. "You should see it in person.
It's even better?"
He felt like he already had. "I will have to keep that in mind."

Extract from "Fragmented Haunt":
Byleth looked at him, shocked as tears streamed down his cheeks, his throat tightened, and his hand underneath the table trembled. Shez was shocked as well, seeing his friend crying over the history lesson he was given. He quickly handed him a napkin, and Byleth gladly accepted.

It's me, psi! Byleth & Dimitri both experience times of darkness before walking into the light together. I'll never tire of exploring their parallels.

Excerpt from "New Normal"
Byleth was beautiful in any palette, but secretly, he missed the blue. It had reminded him of the ocean-not the tranquil waters of Derdriu, but the frigid, stormy seas of home.
There was no beach therel where the land ended, the water plunged abruptly into the abyss. Only the bravest souls dove in to gather oysters by feel, hoping to find one hiding a precious pearl.
That was why the blue suited her. A dangerous, opaque surface obscured wonders navigable only by those comfortable in the dark.

I absolutely love F!Dimileth because I think Dimitri and Byleth compliment each other perfectly, and there's so much you can do with the two of them. I've been shipping them since the beginning, and my fav HC is that Dimitri has a breeding kink and is a yandere for Byleth.

Excerpt from "Tea Time with a Sleepy Professor"
His claws dug into her flesh, drawing blood that he quickly lapped up like a hungry dog, his tongue drooling over her mounds and his hot panting breath brushing over her skin. He squeezed hard enough to almost close his hands into fists around her breasts, growling as he continued to lick at her cuts. "Damn wench. You must think it so amusing when you bend over in front of me to 'pick up my laundry'. Or when you forget to wear a bra and your breasts practically spill out with every swing of your sword during battle. It's like you believe I'm not a man, that I'm not a starved beast when I'm around you." He mumbled between licks, his temper flaring since the conversation they had at tea time.

Hi, I'm Vannen! I love the narrative parallels between Dimitri and Byleth and how perfectly their romance ties into the plot of Azure Moon. :)

Excerpt from "Silver Moonlight"
Indifferent to the blood and gore, Byleth knelt beside him. Dimitri's head was half-turned toward her, the elegant lines of his face visible even in the pale light of dawn.
She studied him carefully, in a way she never could before. He was older than the last time she'd seen him, and yet still unbearably young in death.
He would have been a good king in a peaceful world. Byleth had barely known him, but she knew that to be true.

My Dearest Beloved,

Words cannot express the joy I felt upon receiving your letter. The sight of your familiar writing, the scent of you still lingering upon its pages…my heart soars at these reminders of your beloved self. To hold this letter is to hold you. To kiss your signature is to kiss your precious lips. Knowing that you arrived safely is a balm against the worries that have tormented me each moment since your departure. If not for the need to write my response, I should never let this cherished missive leave my hand. Even now it rests tucked against my heart. But what would I not give to have you in its place, my beloved?

I played 3H in 2020 (covid cabin fever) and I've been shipping dimileth since. I tend to hc Dimitri as bisexual, (Bilethsexual, of course, since Byleth is already bi, they both get to enjoy two cakes). I love the disability, neurodivergent, and mental health rep their dynamics bring to light, and how they overcome those trials and grow together during the lowest phases of their life. The symbolism of light and dark, forgiveness and acceptance, and how they come out at the end hand in hand.

Excerpt from "All That Is Left Of Me"
This is the reality of war. Death is part of the gig.
She knows this all too well. It stares at her without remorse in its blind, baleful eyes as it carefully caresses those it seeks to reap. All she can do is stare back. It's what she was taught.
It's all she has ever known.
The nameless soldier remains in her thoughts as she hauls the next cart, wondering if he will miraculously wake and climb free. Byleth frowns when she returns, and finds there is almost nothing more of him. It's a shame.
He's quite beautiful, even now.
Flowers of mourning and herbs for cleansing are loosely scattered around the pit by the monks, unbeknownst to them, their petals, too, will turn to ash come dawn. For now, they are blanketed by the slow, morose, vermillion set of the sun.

She wondered if this was what the bards sang about—to desire so much that one abandoned good sense in favor of their lust. Objectively, it was a foolish way to be; if a cock or cunt dictated everyone's decisions, heads would roll, kingdoms would fall, and Byleth would find herself even more out-of-place in a world where everyone felt rather than thought. She was no stranger to sex, but that burning, all-consuming desire people made songs about—that was alien to her.

"You truly are an uncivilized beast, boar prince." In Felix's defense, the sight before him was fairly heinous. The tea party before him was a mockery between tankards replacing tea cups and the half-burned scones covering the oversized wrinkled napkin on the ground with nary a companion in sight.
Until Felix felt a hearty slap on his shoulder.
"Save your complaints for the advice box, Fraldarius. I'm the one to blame here," Byleth said as she passed his left and sat down on the other side of the scones. "I invited Dimitri to tea not realizing the courtyard was reserved for a tea-tasting event."

Excerpt from "His Perfect Woman"
"Dimitri, I know it's a lot to ask." Byleth reached over the table and grabbed his hand, "but you should at least think it over. And, well, I do think it's a wonderful idea." She squeezed his fingers in her small hands.
Dimitri's imagination ran wild and he did nothing to stop it. He imagined the woman in front of him cradling a blond baby to her breast.
"Alright, I shall consider it." His heart sang when Byleth's smile widened. She loosened her grip on his fingers and ran her thumb in circles over the back of his hand. Dimitri laced their fingers together, happy that he wasn't wearing gauntlets today. The warmth of her hands alone would make even the coldest winters in Fhirdiad feel like a summer breeze.

Blurb reads: I joined dimileth fandom just recently, but I've never felt so at ease in a fandom space! When I heard about a zine centered around my fav ship of all time, I couldn't help but wanting to be part of it!

Art sample is an illustration of Byleth with a heart-shaped lollipop.

Blurb reads: Their development together in Azure Moon route is lovely! Came to the zine to bring in more Dimileth love!

Sample from "The Duke's Moonlit Secret"
As the second man entered, Byleth’s chest fluttered and her throat felt hoarse. His slick blonde hair was tied in a half-ponytail, and he wore an eyepatch on his right eye. She couldn't stop gazing at his soft facial features, and his one open eye gleamed like a sapphire in the firelight. That must be Duke Blaiddyd, she was certain. Byleth had heard of how handsome he was, but that felt like an understatement after seeing him in person for the first time.

Now that the creation period is wrapping up, we wanted to thank all of our contributors for their work. We will now start sharing daily spotlights for all of the people involved in this zine! ✨Moderator Spotlight✨ Today's spotlight for our zine is for @dimilethoe.bsky.social! Lyra is our Head Mod.

Blurb reads: I'm Lyra, and I'm so excited to be the head mod of this zine! Dimileth is so incredibly special to me, and it's amazing that my pipe dream of an idea came true. I'm a late bloomer to FE3H, joining the fandom in 2023. Byleth and Dimitri won my heart from the minute he called their smile mesmerizing. I love imagining them with a big, loving, family, which is what they deserve and more!

Excerpt from "Bitten by the Green-Eyed Monster"
Something clicks inside of Byleth at this. To know that he needs her as much as she needs him is like a symphony to her ears. She spent two days nearly bleeding out in fear that she had lost him for a second time and that she wasn't enough. Now, she doesn't think about the foolish events of tomorrow or the impending climax of the war, but about the man who has shed his deepest insecurities and desires in front of her.
Her voice is faster than her mind.
"I love you, Dimitri."
And she swears she heard the snap of his willpower break as his lips crash into hers. It is as easy as breathing to kiss him despite the little amount of oxygen it gives. His mouth fits perfectly on her own, moving in unison to fill each crease and part as if Sothis shaped them both to eventually become one.

Excerpt from "Birthday Woes, Birthday Joys"
“I thought we agreed that paperwork is off-limits until—”
“I’m writing my will,” he mumbled, his brow furrowed.
“Your will?” Byleth asked. “But you already have one?”
He frowned. “The one I made after getting married? That one’s no longer any good. Back then, I didn’t have any children—”
“But you wrote on that will that you wanted all your possessions to be split between your children and your spouse, isn’t that enough?”
“It’s fine for a personal will,” Dimitri said without rising his eye to look at her. “But now that our eldest son is almost old enough to inherit without a regent, I need to make sure the succession is clear. A King of Faerghus started a succession war between his sons by not making a will before dying.”
“I see…” Byleth said, though she wasn’t entirely convinced that the morning after his birthday was the best day to think about work.
