Obsession and sinners proving that horror is the genre to tackle nuanced themes. I think they do that so well because by virtue of the genre they don’t fall into being melodramatic and can have elements of fantasy without it being like a fantasy movie?

With planned obsolescence product designers and workers are not encouraged to innovate and make more durable lasting designs but rather are incentivated to make faulty products that the consumer will need to constantly rebuy. So much for capitalism breeds innovation
