People are SO SCARED of strangers hurting them or their kids, but the data consistently supports that it’s far more likely to be a friend or family member. Most mass shootings are at private residences. Only a quarter of kidnappings are strangers.

Does it make sense for top American politicians to tell the Pope he isn't Pope-ing right? It does when you think of religion as a tool for power and social control. I'm not saying that's what religions are really for, just how some Big Shots use it.

I wonder if groupthink played a role in where we are with Iran. A group of top administration people agreed that we could (really and truly!) knock out Iran's regime, terminate the ballistic missle threat, and get their enriched uranium. Oh, and there would be minimal political & economic fallout.

Repeat after me: the more you feel the need for media to explicitly tell you who's good and who's the villain, how to behave and how to love, the more you expect it to give you answers instead of making you think and ask questions, the more vulnerable you are to all kinds of propaganda.

Do you trust the right people on issues like poverty, violence, and climate change? The more important the issue is to you, the more important it is to make sure your information and analysis come from people who offer valid information and a fair-minded analysis.

Ever heard of looksmaing. This is seemingly an outgrowth of the masculine, mysogynist "man-o-sphere" that fuels and then exploits a segment of the male population that is young, and leans toward being insecure and socially isolated besides.
