That's terribly sad. The Tasmanian Herbarium team are such a small group, it's hard to think how they will continue to manage their collection with even fewer staff. We have so few lichenogists in Australia hopefully Ginteras can continue by other means.

Cape Range’s subterranean streams harbour rare, endemic stygofauna, primarily the Blind Gudgeon Milyeringa veritas (growing up to 5 cm long) these critically protected, translucent fish lack eyes and pigmentation. Tantabiddi Boat ramp sinkhole, Cape Range National Park, Western Australia.
A small colourless fish about 3 cm long lacking eyes, normally lives in underground caves, here seen at the surface in a sinkhole amongst freshwater algae.
