If we’re being clear, scientists abandoned the “A” when they stopped masking. Those of us with disabilities are constantly putting ourselves at risk to participate in science.

This would be a great time for everyone to be cool when reviewing manuscripts and *not* request $25,000 worth of new experiments that don’t substantially advance or validate the study...

I'm Dr. Annie Andrews. I’m a pediatrician, not a politician. But either way I know how to handle people who are full of sh*t. Today I am announcing my campaign for US Senate to replace Lindsey Graham. Share this if you're with me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=J8wM...

RFK Jr. says he met with Argentina’s president Javier Milei and it sounds like they want to make a fascist alternative to the World Health Organization.
Secretary Kennedy on X: I had a wonderful meeting with Argentine President @JMilei about our nations' mutual withdrawal from the WHO and the creation of an alternative international health system based on gold-standard science and free from totalitarian impulses, corruption, and political control.

Two years ago, my dad at 78 was walking 3 miles a day. Every day. Hurt “his back” weeding and it turned out he had massive bone destruction of the 4th and 5th rib. Stage 4 cancer and he died 6 weeks later. All happened really fast

I was having a hard time describing how a plate of cultured cells didn’t look healthy to a new undergrad in the lab. He looked at them and said, “oh yeah, the vibes are off.” Thank god for Gen Z.

Yes, so here I'm distinguishing between NOA and actually being able to receive funds (draw from account). We have a NOA but it's unclear if the account to draw from is set up and active.

Cheryl Keller @cherylkeller.bsky.social · 05/05/2025
well that's reassuring. when did your grants renew?

Cheryl Keller @cherylkeller.bsky.social · 05/05/2025
I'm currently spending on a subaward that did receive a NOA (non competitive renewal on 2/1/25), and it's not at all uncommon for my uni to let PIs do this, but it's totally unclear to me if the money is actually coming???

Cheryl Keller @cherylkeller.bsky.social · 05/05/2025
Has anyone actually received NIH money in the last couple months? Not just NOA but actually have funds "in hand"?

Welp, it begins. Sigma Aldrich.
To maintain our operational integrity and continue delivering the service and quality our customers rely on, we have made the decision to implement a tariff surcharge. This temporary surcharge is in lieu of a tariff cost passthrough and protects our customers from experiencing the full impact of the broad tariff rates, some of which are very high. By leveraging a surcharge, we retain flexibility to adjust or remove the surcharge if the situation changes in the coming weeks or months.

Effective May 5, the surcharge will be applied to product orders shipped to locations in the United States which reflects the tariffs' broader impacts on our overall global supply chain processes, including production and procurement costs in addition to any direct costs on products. This charge will appear as a separate line item on quotes and invoices.
