Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 2hI always say I should keep a milk crate in the boot of my car to lift my view over the hedges. Always say it, but always forget! 020
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 17hSitting in the garden at Consell, Mallorca, drinking our Albariño. Unexpected Sardinian Warbler and Marsh Tit flying around our heads 080
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Photos look fine to me. In fact, they look very good. Much better than the other place because I'd have missed them, no longer looking at that site 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Great blog, again. Love a Grey Phalarope, such busy birds 111
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Well done, Barry. You've worked hard for this. Well deserved, I'm sure 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Like you, we had good views of the Montagu earlier in the week, but unlike you, we keep missing the Black Stork 000
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 14/09/2026It's satisfying to put the question to bed. It certainly is easy to be swayed by those around you. But peaceful time to put your thoughts together pays off 010
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 14/09/2026I've been away, and I've been looking forward to some quiet time to catch up on your welcome blogs. Thank you. 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Last full day in Cornwall. A walk at Polgigga allowed us to see the Red-backed Shrike after a local shared info on its location. Birdguides had sent us to a cricket pavilion! Onto Buff-breasted Sandpiper at Trevorian. There were a few people around, and kindly updated Birdguides to be more helpful. 080
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Stithians visit today.Met the legend who is John St Ledger of @cbwps.org.uk. Wonderful chap with great Kernow knowledge. Also, met a nice chap called Nick.Missed the Buff-breasted Sand and G Ibis, but Greenshank,Ruff,Turnstone were pleasing. Be back next year. Thank you, folks, for making us welcome. 130
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Forgot to say we had a walk at Drift Reservoir, but the water levels were really low. 3 Greenshank the best. Lots of Wall Brown, Painted Lady, Clouded Yellow on Scabious. Very pleasant walk 050
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Today in Cornwall. Pendeen seawatch 7-9:30. Amazing Bonxie chasing a Phalarope. Great crowd of 14+ folk. Fab breakfast at Dog and Rabbit in St. Just. Walk through St. Loy near St Buryan to Merthen Point and back up via the campsite. Remarkable views of Bluefin Tuna feeding and bottle-nosed dolphin. 170
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 08/09/2026It rained all the way to Eastleach, so we weren't hopeful for the Long Tailed Shrike. The skies cleared when we arrived, allowing great views of LTS. Thanks to John Richardson for directions. Corn Bunting, Whinchat, and Raven, too. What a lovely spot. Walking back to the car, the rain began again. 180
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Great blog, Carl. There's no way I would know the difference. If only I'd started birding years ago. I always have questions and more questions, relying on the friendliness and knowledge of others. Certainly a beautiful bird 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Thank you, Paul. I understand you did a great job. We're all very grateful 👏 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 31/08/2026It surprises me that some birders post on both. If only they'd abandon the other place. 010
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 29/08/2026We all love glamorous birds as well as the regulars. A 30-mile trip is not so bad for such a delightful bird and such great photos. Awful roads and traffic wherever you go these days in my view. 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 26/08/2026Good to hear about your local area and always an interesting blog. Thank you 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 23/08/2026It was a great day. Shame we dipped the Black Stork. As Robert said, "we're on a wild Stork chase" 021
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 22/08/2026We got it today with some help and the Pec Sand. Two ticks for me #essexbirding 150
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 16/08/2026Great blog. I certainly couldn't identify a CG, but I am always grateful when one is pointed out. I've heard a couple of TDs this year in Suffolk, but that's all. The Zitters are a delight, and following some photographers' disgraceful behaviour, they were embargoed during the breeding season. 130
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 16/08/2026I replied on the other platform by mistake, so I'm going to delete it. Anyway, it was lovely to see you 111
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Thank goodness. I do take a photo of mine, but that's the best I can do 010
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 15/08/2026We had our car broken into whilst there a few years ago. Fortunately, no personal possessions in the hire car at the time 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 15/08/2026Yes, I'd seen that. I'll wait for the #Mermaid Penzance company as they're closer to where we're staying and apparently excellent. 000
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 15/08/2026No dead certs for TD's. I hope you can get time to see the Zitters 000
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 12/08/20267:30 am. is a much better time of day. Shame they close the gates so early in the afternoon, but you can wriggle around them at the side 100
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Glorious location. We visit friends in Mallorca at least once a year. No trip is complete without a visit to S'Albufera. It's too hot for me to enjoy at the moment, we're going at the beginning of October 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I would never knowingly use it, but it's hard for me to know, sometimes. Great analysis 110
Cheryl Deeks @cheryldeeks.bsky.social · 10/08/2026There are no current plans from #mermaid for a September pelagic, but that may change, they say. I do hope so. Stugeron at the ready, just in case. 210
