[Panel 1] Everyone meets up at the lobby, dressed up for dinner. “Excellent ! We’re finally all here, let us proceed to the dining hall.” Daryl exclaims.
[Panel 2] As they move to their destination, pairs form up, and begin to chit chat. Not for Merryl though, she is too busy thinking to herself, as she looks at Akko, her arm resting in Diana’s : “Wait– isn’t that my dress ?”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreig52rpwufhyboqdj3avwcrfelcgs55g7nipgqxtufkdugolsksmaa)
![[Panel 3] Surprisingly, the dinner is agreeable enough ; guests are talking, laughing and drinking at the table.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreia7gdtxo4ruheolkpixbob5vddeh5iktmex5h46lzokvdu4n56jnu)
![[Panel 4] Diana is eating a refined meal. Distincts “Clink” can be heard, everyone is enjoying their meal.
[Panel 5] Paul is in a surprisingly good mood, laughing and talking to everyone : again, not the usual facade he brings with him.
[Panel 6] Akko is laughing out loud and smiling. Honest as she is, she wears her current mood on her face at all times : she is having a great time.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreig7ul3css4ljcfspamuuga7winpnyzgk5u5veiqr6n4ii5vfqmney)
![[Panel 7] “No, no ! That was before !” “Oh, yes ! Absolutely true !” Diana only catches glimpses of Akko’s conversation with the others, but it’s fine. She drinks a sip. Maybe it’s not going to be so bad this time around, and she will try to enjoy it a little too. Or, at least get some extra hours of Akko’s smile to stare at less than discreetly.
[Panel 8] Paul’s voice booms. “So, Daryl.” Oh. That's not how he sounded earlier, must have had too much wine. “Now that magic isn’t an issue as a resource, we could revisit that business we talked a while ago.” Urgh, the main subject of tonight’s dinner makes its entrance, to Diana’s utter displeasure.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreie5rcvp7skgtmjakr7im4shijhnzk4j2phgtybq6c475qvwlfelgq)

[Panel 1] Akko knocks gently at the door. “Diana ? Are you ready ?” “Yes, give me one moment.” Diana answers from behind it.
[Panel 2] “Hooo… I wonder what we’ll eat...” Akko thinks to herself, quite worked up about tonight.
[Panel 3] Diana finally opens the door, revealing her in a set of handsome masculine clothing, still adjusting her neckpiece. “Oh! Oh, WOW !” Akko is very enthusiastic about tonight’s Diana, and of course the handsome one doesn’t miss another opportunity to blush from all this excitement.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreiaoogqwmjbtfjcclcoe7bvq4scs64xjvk6w6eysxsxc4i6ivmieli)
![[Panel 4] Akko is smiling with all her face, her eyes riveted on her, you’d forget she’s supposed to play noble at this dinner too. “Diana, you look fantastic !”
[Panel 5] “You think ? Since you were going in a dress, I thought we could match…” Look at her acting all shy suddenly; she quite cleverly asks her to accompany her without telling it to her face, but she can’t look at her and keep touching her necklace. “Well, you look more like nobility than I do, that’s for sure !”
[Panel 6] “Shall we ?” She smoothly proposes her arm with a smile to Akko, who plays along. “Certainly, Miss Cavendish !”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreidynb6tzvarmmjmqkrswhgvooy2irgrcw4vtbiazazdfpt2crlhoa)
![[Panel 7] Akko holds herself to Diana’s arm, and playfully teases her. “Looking forward to the dinner party ?” She mischievously smiles, waiting for Diana’s answer, who is keeping her chin up and proud to hide how nervous she’s making her right now.
[Panel 8] She makes a painful face. “I’m afraid I’ll be bored out of my mind.” Akko laughs. “Not with me there !”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreiaqfle36nruwbcoronx4zrpao4uxvnos25s7qgi5t4oneix3jab5m)

[Panel 1] Diana is stunned by what Andrew told her. “H-Wha–? H-How did–?” She is visibly panicked, her biggest secret uncovered, how could she let it happen ? What if he spilled the beans ?!
[Panel 2] Andrew is… also shocked. He didn’t expect her to outright panic like this, he thought she would just give him the fun story ! “I… didn’t. Until now. Really ?” He tries to calm things down.
[Panel 3] Diana is depressed, she slouches and leans over the bricks, mumbling to herself. “Why don’t I just drown in the lake ?”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreigcbvr6k3aq4qr237a74lsrfoy7kgi2jnhs4uhejk7mhy6szojafa)
![[Panel 4] His joke may have packed too much punch, but Andrew can’t refrain himself from a loud laugh after Diana’s comment. “Haha ! Don’t be so dramatic !” Diana hides her face in her arms and rests on the railing, like Akko told her she preferred to stay friends.
[Panel 5] He gives a cheerful nudge to the “heartbroken” witch. “Why are you so affected by it ?”
[Panel 6] She raises her head, still upset, and won’t look at him, but she does answer. “It’s something I would like to keep private, thank you very much.”
[Panel 7] “Oh, yes. Fantastic job you’re doing– Seriously Diana, with the way you keep looking at her, I’m surprised my father didn’t notice.” He replies with his usual smugness, and a tad of lighthearted humor to make her feel better.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicgoned2ggn43wqv34l73gj4b274ghqefizz6lsojitlcvyroyl6e)
![[Panel 8] “Hey, it’s not a big deal. So you have a crush, congratulations on having emotions.” Too cynical again, Andrew.
[Panel 9] Diana is obviously mad at him. She crosses her arms, glaring at him. “You’re one to talk. Did you resume your piano lessons or are those emotions too genuine ?”
[Panel 10] He shrugs, and brags a little. “In fact, I have.”](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreieer4xl6ekpll74ypnr4adwygawwcyksi5ckxf2nxc3r5xh2smm4e)
![[Panel 11] “And I do understand you, she’s charming, in every way of the word.” He bluntly comments, as they look at Akko in the middle of her charming magic antics, morphing her mouth for a duck’s beak, Frank in tears from laughter.
[Panel 12] “So you too have feelings for her.” Diana mumbles, seemingly… defeated.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicc2lymiaudg7tm3z2fobkp6poawovb4565tnmgh4wo2mr7ojzq4u)
![[Panel 1] Andrew seriously replies to Akko, his arms crossed. “It’s mutual. Especially Diana’s horses, they don’t like me at all.” Akko is both baffled and repulsed “Brego’s a sweetheart, he must have a good reason.” Diana is quite proud of her horse at that.
[Panel 2] “Akko, Akko ! You must see this !” Frank shouts from the balcony, she is instantly distracted and stares at him with interest.
[Panel 3] Excited like always, Frank did not even bother to look away from the lake, absorbed in something. “Look ! There’s ducklings !” The little featherballs must be really cute to get him going like this.
[Panel 4] In typical Akko fashion, she must see this and with a loud “ほ!” [Ho!], she forgets about her current companions and rushes to check the babies.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreietetqwfdhx7hq2ypmw4ruhtttqqumrp3dqnh2aezoer2656aytpm)
![[Panel 5] Andrew is not letting Diana join in on the fun though, and starts back their previous conversation. “It’s the most fun I’ve had at your house.” He jests, happy to ready his trap again.
[Panel 6] “I’m glad we’ve been able to entertain you, despite the near downfall of my House.” Hook, line and sinker once again, although Diana is quite on edge and tired of his game.
[Panel 7] “Hey, relax a little. I was just joking. You’ve been particularly sharp today.” Andrew says, trying to calm things down, but Diana is still visibly mad at him.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreihyzm7uv43jllffn4qkksumybxwxrgklnlnotlxlfyjemphke4lgm)
![[Panel 8] She sighs, a deep breath to help calm down. “You’re right.” She admits, her eyes closed, facing the sky to let the wind run a little over her and cool her anger down.
[Panel 9] “You were of help with that fiasco with my family, and you shouldn’t have even been involved. I’ve been somewhat irritable, haven’t I ?” She finally acknowledges.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreihqejrf2hhl7iol4fd3edkewhphwt3bamn5vaghbix2hezwiurq2i)
![[Panel 10] “I get it.” Andrew wins this round once again, he makes his stupid <<I am so good at this>> smug grin and delivers the final blow. “If I were spending the summer with my crush and was not to do anything about it, I too would be a little touchy.” What. Did. He. Say ?! Diana is mortified. Obliterated by his last few sentences, her face turns redder in embarrassment than she ever did in her life, surely she would remember something as humiliating as having been played like a fiddle by Andrew of all people too ! But for him, this is just tonight’s hors d’oeuvres.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreic4uii5ferjtscnur4lutt6wekfg5kq7tv2cu5ndvd6nuhtqufzhi)

Title card : SUMMER BREAK, DAY 8
[Panel 1] A close shot of Diana, rather neutral.
[Panel 2] A shout breaks the silence “Diana ! They’re here !” She sighs, there it is. She hoped they wouldn’t show up but that was obviously not going to happen.
[Panel 3] At the front entrance, ladies and servants wait for the Hanbridges. Daryl greets them as they leave their car “Welcome, welcome ! Paul, Andrew, it’s very good to see you again !” “Hello !” an uninvited third guest responds “Oh, Mr Bellingham, what a surprise ! Welcome too !” “Thank you for inviting us again.” Adds the Hanbridge father.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicu5ky2zyg6cerniwy2mm4wyjwedxscxkwd67gaxb5fswv6xhbqhe)
![[Panel 4] Once inside, they start conversing some more. “Thank you for having me ! I hope it’s not much of an intrusion. I was staying with Andrew for the summer.” Frank explains awkwardly, feeling embarrassed to have been dragged along by Andrew to a dinner he wasn’t invited to. “Oh, not at all. The more the merrier.” Daryl answers, adding a convincingly warm gesture to her words. While Paul is giving his thanks to one of the family butlers, his son is waiting. “Andrew !” Akko’s voice pierces the air and the surprise immediately gets his attention.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicis4kc4fkgr7vebgtj2igft7nt5covussmaaprsrklb2wes4eoui)
![[Panel 5] After rushing down the stairs, Akko’s waving at him with a big smile “Heeeey ! Long time no see !” She joyfully welcomes Andrew.
[Panel 6] The pleasure is shared, he gleefully joins her. “Hey, Akko ! How are you ?” “Great ! How’s the graduated life going ?”
[Panel 7] “With all the preparations for university, I’m thankful for this break.” He shrugs, tired of this subject already. Diana slowly walks to them, trying to gain as much time as she can walking down the stairs.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:3kwrc2ijjy2jdini5zrisbwu/bafkreicurldte72bqqauuzq5bybosbpxsqnuogj5pl46ax24igjjn76im4)
