People love a good “dead loved one who haunts the narrative” but personally I’m a big fan of “dead villain who left an immeasurable impact on the character’s life in a weird toxic situationship-y kind of way who haunts the narrative”.

As a certified hater, I never get into fights with these easy steps: 1 - complain in private to your best buddy who Gets It 2 - don't bother posting about it 3 - if you see a thing that sucks: scroll away

it’s come to my attention that my tumblr post has been crossposted to bluesky, so I’m posting it on my account here #AntiAI #GenAI

recently my friend's comics professor told her that it's acceptable to use gen AI for script-writing but not for art, since a machine can't generate meaningful artistic work. meanwhile, my sister's screenwriting professor said that they can use gen AI for concept art and visualization, but that it won't be able to generate a script that's any good. and at my job, it seems like each department says that AI can be useful in every field except the one that they know best.

It's only ever the jobs we're unfamiliar with that we assume can be replaced with automation. The more attuned we are with certain processes, crafts, and occupations, the more we realize that gen AI will never be able to provide a suitable replacement. The case for its existence relies on our ignorance of the work and skill required to do everything we don't.

Like how people will illegally read books online, how writers or musicians use AI for covers, how crafters steal/trace art for their patterns, artists that steal/trace photographs, etc. Already, art theft + AI is awful. But when it's from another creative, it feels like a betrayal. 2/2

This is a similar vein to a point I had made months ago, but more for generalized art theft and AI. I talked about how sad it was to see creatives in different fields disrespect other creative fields, and how it felt like art on art hate. 1/2

i made a guide on how to write, draw, and print a doujinshi/fanzine/whatever you want to call it. this is a crash course on literally everything i know about making doujinshi. it's over 40 pages long. i hope you like it. docs.google.com/document/d/1...
