Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 02/05/2026The move toward significant partisanship in elections might end up with hard asses running the federal government - no more give and take. No more 'because they need it'. What happens if one party really controls the government to the point where it is 'cooperate or else'? Really close now. 3100
Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 29/04/2026I used to support the Biden approach - help those state which need it, even if not supporters. Now, not so much. MAGA 'Bite the hand that feeds you' has demonstrated we need a harsher approach. I feel uncomfortable adopting a more confrontational approach but here we are. Anger/what works? 050
Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 29/04/2026It may be that the only effective method to minimize the power of gerrymandering is to dramatically expand the size of Congress. Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 11/04/2026Presidential pardons - one could argue that a pardon issued after the president has been impeached, though before he has been convicted by the Senate, to be invalid once he has been convicted. This would seem to particularly apply if one of the charges was accepting bribes for issuing pardons. 152
Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 10/04/2026Trump promising to pardon anyone who comes near the White House must surely be an impeachable offense in of itself. A promised pardon is an incitement to criminal action, itself a criminal act, I assume. Hard to believe that we could sink so low, but here we are. 0132

Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 03/04/2026The generals who replace the generals fired by Hegseth/Trump must be aware that they will be held accountable in the future. I wonder what goes through their minds. I think it likely they are wishing that Congress, the people with explicit power, would get off its ass and get rid of Donald Trump. 3133
Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 30/03/2026I wonder if there is an alternate path to justice/award for damages if Trump pardons somebody. Is there a path that injured parties can now take for the same crime at the state level? Or is that double jeopardy, even though the initial jeopardy was taken away? 081
Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 26/03/2026Of course Putin wants the Ukraine war to end - but only on his terms. Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 02/01/2026The Post Office is an essential government service and has been from the beginning. We came to rely on the posted date. Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 30/12/2025Seems simple to me: raise min wage over planned years, drop tax rates for low to mid earners. Karjala @chenaridge.bsky.social · 30/12/2025I think it likely that the delays in postmarking are part of former Postmaster General Louis DeJoy's 'optimization' of the Post Office.
