Teenage me was very aimless, bad at school & self-conscious when it came to the two years I studied art. I used to try and cover up work as teachers walked by. If I had one piece of advice to give teenage me it would be to embrace imperfection and work with it rather than trying to hide it.

bits of old, badly drawn cartoons, copied cartoon characters and remnants of a nearly 40 year old art portfolio from school. Every time the teacher came around I felt like covering these up. I always picked a corner to work in. There are explorations of inks, charcoal, and paints - most exploring the human form and light.

I remember we got a free version of Corel photohouse with a printer we bought. I had a scanner and would scan in hand drawn images, and then use Corel to touch up. I was so amazed by the technology. The scanner could do 300 dpi for goodness sake #chemchat

Underneath is a feed from "tweetbook" in reverse chronological order where it says "Jimmy is collecting fraction 18......." "jimmy is collecting fraction 17....." "jimmy is collecting fraction "16"....... etc. Back in those days, you had to actually type onto a computer - and noone liked logging into the lab computer. I am imagining this person leaving the lab every time they want to do an update.$
