Cheems @chejective.bsky.social · 27/09/2026It is true. I’m British Pakistani and can attest to it being a really mainstream position I’ve always encountered, among people who grew up in this country and even born here Part of the problem with the research is “South Asians” includes British Indians who do identify more as British and English 100
Cheems @chejective.bsky.social · 26/09/2026The wider point he’s making about national identity over ethnicity is spot on. In a uk context it challenges both the British Pakistanis identifying as Pakistani. Also challenges the far right who says Rishi Sunak isn’t English. It’s healthy that america focuses on national identity more. 011
Cheems @chejective.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I’m British Pakistani and would say the anecdote he’s describing is exactly matching my life experience. The amount of times I’ve heard that line “I’m Pakistani. Not British” from people with British passports who grew up from very young in the uk! I think it’s likely different for British Indians 220
Cheems @chejective.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Yes! I had to literally cover my ears with my hands during various scenes, a movie doesn’t need to be that loud. No marvel movie with any of its action scenes I’ve ever experienced that for example, same with Star Wars. 100

Cheems @chejective.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Interesting, I think from a neutral perspective it could be superb imo Real potential for a very high scoring end to end game with both teams weak defensively. And any game where Messi plays can be really captivating. His equaliser v Egypt was just an incredible sports moment. 000
