New Asian Blu-Ray day from both @arrowvideo.bsky.social and @88films.bsky.social I live in hope that one day JVC will reinstate 3D to the more affordable end of their projector range so I can watch Magnificent Bodyguards properly - I'm not upgrading unless I can get all the features I want!

Once again, 5 new comics. It's like the release schedule gods have got their act together. Apart from Titan comics whose latest Blade Runner issue is now 3 weeks late with no sign of it turning up any time soon. #ncbd @crunchcomics.bsky.social #marvelcomics #tmnt

My second cinema trip this week for Scare Out, a new Chinese film from Zhang Yimou. A slick, ultra-modern spy thriller, spoiled by terrible editing. You can count the number of shots over 2 seconds on the fingers of one hand! The editor must have been paid by the cut!

Did a spot of thematic decorating before watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze from @arrowvideo.bsky.social Not as terrible as I'd remembered (even if it is more kid-friendly than #1). It only really goes downhill at the end when Vanilla Ice turns up! #tmnt #ninjaturtles

And the second in my double-bill was Korean film No Other Choice from Chan Wook Park, about a man who loses his job and decides killing off rival candidates is the best way to secure a new position. I liked it but not as much as the critics - I wanted more dark comedy.

A cinema double-bill yesterday. First up was Another World, an animated film from China. Was OK but it got quite dark at times which i think would limit the appeal.

It's an all-turtles (or turtles adjacent) week this week! Would have been even more turtle-y if the Battle Nexus cover I wanted had been available, but that can wait for next week instead #ncbd @crunchcomics.bsky.social #tmnt
