🧘‍♂️ feels very zen these days

A checked “Lowercase timeline post text” setting appears above the note “Only affects languages with letter case, like English".

A social media post complains that Google Maps’ website repeatedly prompts users to switch to the mobile app, illustrated with screenshots of upgrade prompts, an app-opening dialog, and map settings.

All the texts are lowercased.

After few hours of inactivity, loading the page shows this 😬

Mobile browser showing a Google Maps prompt that the app is already installed, with “Open app” and “Stay on web” options.

😓 Google Maps web site really tries very hard to switch users to the mobile app. A lot non-dismissible prompts. Tapping on “Find a place” field will also attempt to launch the mobile app.

A Google Maps pop-up in a mobile browser promotes upgrading to the app, listing real-time traffic, faster route planning, and personalized alerts, with “Go back to web” and “Continue” buttons.

A Google Maps screenshot centered on Oracle Park and San Francisco’s South Beach, with directions options for driving, cycling, walking, and public transit.

A mobile browser displays a prompt asking whether to open the page in Google Maps, with Cancel and Open buttons.

A mobile Google Maps menu is open, showing map layers and tools such as Traffic, Transit, Bicycling, Satellite, Terrain, Wildfires, and Air Quality.

@todd @ivory on my side, I see it on 2nd result, which is almost easy to miss, and after that, it's all the luxury stuff 🙈
