If you look at this zoomed slightly up and to the right of center, there is a bat skimming the water and getting a drink in flight. They're ended up being about 4 of them and more were arriving as I left. Never saw it before. Severe drought here.

The latest Isaias forecast from NHC continues to nudge the storm east a few miles - following the AI model paths again. This puts central landfall closer to Fort Walton Beach and Destin, from Pensacola. Significantly good news for Mobile and Biloxi in these forecasts. Cat 3. #isaias #FLwx #ALwx

For Chattanooga, rain and wind start overnight tonight, getting gusty by 7am. 1 to 3 inches expected - more possible. Gusts up to 40 in the valley here, and higher in the surrounding mountains. 60+ in the Smokys.

Here is the ECMWF's highest wind gust between 8pm and 8am for Alabama. 60kts+ in a strip all the way up central Alabama past Birmingham and Tuscaloosa.

Apparently the ECMWF likes the HRRR inland winds solutions too, so I guess I have to take that more seriously. That's gusts over 60mph around Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and Montgomery Alabama at 5am. That will be some power outages. #Alwx #isaias

I'm a big fan of the NDFD grid, but this thing needs to have a little self-respect...

NDFD forecast wind gust graphic for Saturday at 2pm. Broad acrea of wind gusts in high 20s across MS/AL/GA, and then this weird cut out hole in northern AL of low winds with a stripe of a tropical jet to the right of the circulation. And it looks very stupid and very discontinuous.
