A cooler sits on a bench in the shade. A sign in 3 languages (German, English, Russian) encourages people to help themselves to drinking water.

Sounds like a great place. The only Chihuly I've ever seen in person is the chandelier at the V&A.
Ornate - huge! - glass chandelier in blues greens and yellows, hanging in the entryway of the V&A Museum in London. My photo.

Monet painted from life, n'est-ce pas? 😉
A landscape featuring a rural paved track on the left, with a poppy-strewn field of ripening wheat on the right and a line of trees bordering it. The road and field and trees converge in the distance under a blue sky with white fluffy clouds. Very Monet-esque!

Had to share this absolutely perfect post-stacking. Sure mirrored my reaction.
Jay Hulme's post stating "Yesterday I went on a little evening walk and while I was waiting to cross the road a squirrel pooped on me." Followed directly on my feed with a photo of a man reacting with immense disapproval to something, with pursed lips and a deep frown.

March Sadness.
A sculpture commemorating the victims of WWI and WWII stands in a small park, in front of a small group of pine trees. A cemetery is visible in the background. The memorial consists of a column with the dates of the wars engraved upon it. Atop it is a near-life-size sculpture of a woman. She is holding the shoulders of a young barefoot child who stands before her. They both have somber expressions.

My #SuperbOwl, let me show you it:
A small white ceramic owl, with eyes, beak and feathers detailed in gold paint, sits atop a glass plate. A photo of almond flowers is in the background.

As a little break from the horrors, how about a nice robin? Oh heck, it's that kind of day, I'll throw in some snowdrops, too!
Against a background of bare gray-brown branches and tree trunks, a (European) robin sits on a curving branch at the top left of the photo.Blooming snowdrops.

January evening.
Trees growing on a slope, picture taken from below. The branches are leafless, there's snow on the ground. The trees are silhouetted against a light blue early evening sky.

Merry Christmas, Bluesky! And wishes for joy and hope for all.
A Nativity scene with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. Mary is sleeping, apparently deeply and peacefully, on a bed of straw to the left of the picture. To the right, Joseph is sitting on a stool, holding the baby, who's stretching and yawning. Jospeh looks absolutely delighted. Afraid I don't know who the artist is.

You just died. The 6th picture in your phone gallery is what killed you. (Nibbled to death by ducks, apparently.)
A pond, showing the reflection of autumn trees and the late-afternoon sky. The water's surface is rippled by swimming ducks

Happy Halloween!
"Death blowing bubbles," 18th century. The bubbles symbolize life's fragility. This plaster work appears on the ceiling of Holy Grave Chapel in Michaelsberg Abbey, Bamberg, Germany. Death is portrayed as a skeleton.

Today is very gray (again), so here's a pic from a past October. 📷 my own
A branch, hanging downwards, with autumn leaves lit by the late afternoon sun. In the background are other trees with sparse leaves, that highlight the bright yellow and orange-brown leaves, which seem to glow from an internal source. Photo my own.

It is October. I live in the Northern hemisphere. And one of my rhododendrons has decided to start blooming. Mind you, it already bloomed this spring. None of the others are doing this. Very strange.
A rhododendron with a number of pink blossoms, surrounded by various other plants. Behind the rhododendron to the right is a garden shed.

Harrumph 😉

Yesterday afternoon I enjoyed the sunshine while picking, cleaning, and destemming grapes. Ended up with 4.9kg! After juicing, I had 3ltr of juice & about 1/2 cup of...pulp? Mash? Made a small spice cake with it, will bottle the juice this evening. 😋
A kitchen counter with gray granite work surface and black stove top. There are empty glass bottles on the left, a dark brown bundt cake on a flowered china plate in the middle, and a cooking pot with grape juice on the stove.

I also love this Rockwell -- "Tired Salesgirl on Christmas Eve" (1947), used to illustrate the word "forswunk"=exhausted for A Word A Day wordsmith.org/words/forswu...
Norman Rockwell Painting, "Tired Salesgirl on Christmas Eve" from 1947. An obviously exhausted woman is slumped against a wall, rubbing her bare, sore feet together. There's a book on her lap, apparently stuffed full of orders and receipts, and she's surrounded by unsold toys, including a large yellow toy car big enough for a child to sit in. The toys aren't displayed neatly on shelves, rather heaped and scattered. A stuffed animal above her left shoulder seems like it's looking at her with a concerned expression. A sign above her head is partly detached and hangs crooked. It reads 'this store closes at 5:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve'. The woman's watch, pinned to her dress, reads 5:05.

Summer plaid:
A grainfield which has been recently harvested, beneath a sunny summer sky. There are lines of light and dark brown showing the different directions the harvesters took at each pass, along with some light green lines -- newly planted next crop, I think. It all forms a sort of plaid pattern.

What those redcurrants became -- a bottle of unsweetened juice to be used for something or other in the future, with the remaining juice sweetened and made into jelly for my weekend Brötchen. Juice canning instructions as well as the bottle from the excellent www.glaeserundflaschen.de site.

"The power of sharing books"
A cartoon showing a woman in a chair reading a book to a child lying on the floor in front of her. Their shadows are shown thrown onto the wall next to them -- in the woman's shadow, the book in her hand looks like it's dissolving and floating toward the child's shadow, which is much larger and features castles, palm trees, Big Ben, a hot air balloon, and other figures depicting expanding imagination: the power of sharing books!

All right, then! Post a random photo otherwise everything goes wrong in June
A very large garden gnome carrying a bucket of blue fish and sporting a disturbing smile stands behind a chain link fence. (I'm glad there's a fence.) There's a green rain barrel behind and to the left of the gnome, and lots of vegetation growing vigorously in early summer.

Funny post-stacking in my feed, featuring intense yellow 💛 :)
stacked posts: the top one says "Decided yellow for breakfast nook is lovely but way the hell too intense for the space as it doesn't have windows. Deciding between 'Corn Silk' and 'Dayroom Yellow'"
The next post is by Star Trek Minus Context. It's a scene from Star Trek Voyager featuring Tuvok attempting a Vulcan mind meld with Seven of Nine, who's lying on a med bay table, looking very upset, and screaming "I'll sue for malpractice!" A certain shade of yellow features prominently and may or may not be contributing to her distress.

If you see this, and you're in the mood for this kind of thing, quote post with a beach photo from your gallery.
In the middle of the photo, a heart made entirely of seashells in concentric (concardiac??) colors: blue in the middle, then a rim of brown, then blue again, then white, then blue on the outside. The damp sand has been carefully tamped down to showcase this lovely heart. Taken on the beach at Domburg, NL in July 2006 -- best vacation evar!
