Over the last week, the president was flippant about the possibility of Iran “taking out” California cities, greenlit a televised execution, and now is inciting violence against Minnesota’s Somali community. These desperate attempts by President Trump to escalate violence in our state and our nation is unacceptable and will not work.

CD5 DFL stands proudly with our Somali community and condemns the hateful rhetoric and incitements of violence coming from Republican leadership. Our state is made better by the contributions of our diverse communities and culture of neighborliness.

This administration tried to break our spirit and resolve during Operation Metro Surge, and it only did the opposite – we banded together, defended our neighbors, and stood firmly against a fascist operation.

With just 24 days until the November 3 election, Trump is doing everything he can to distract and divide us.

It will not work. We will continue to stand alongside our neighbors. We will continue to defend our communities from hate. We will show up with force at the polls and let this administration see that Minnesota cannot be bullied.

We are stronger together, and we all do better when we all do better.

Minnesota has been dealing with the most despicable violence from federal agents, with help from local law enforcement, as a result of racist rhetoric like this for months. At a time when law enforcement should be rebuilding trust with the community, Bob Fletcher continues spewing this rhetoric.

He has also faced criticism for excluding BIPOC commissioners from emails and for strongly advocating for Flock cameras. There have also been allegations about the use of RCSO funds for his charter school. Just this week, he was back in the news over troubling comments about our Somali community.

Bob Fletcher is our County Sheriff, and is the only candidate on the ballot this November. Sheriff Fletcher has served a total of 23 years as Ramsey County Sheriff, and in that time, he has built up quite a reputation. And in case you’re not aware of it, it’s not a particularly good one.

True in June 2025, even truer after Operation Metro Surge. Trans comrades were central to grocery delivery operations, rent funds, patrol, giving rides…. If trans people belong to a cult (cf. Will Stancil), that cult is mutual aid and solidarity. Where politicians fail, trans people prevailed.

MAGAts finally made some crop art that got displayed along with all the rest of the pieces, but that still wasn’t enough. A different crop artist has been doxxed, started receiving death threats, and had to leave the state because people were coming to her house. Absolutely vile people.

exactly. i’m not big on rides anywhere, but lots of people my age still are. the state fair gives young people ten days where they can just be with other young people and do things they find fun. that’s so rare nowadays and we shouldn’t limit that. even the MOA kicks minors out after 3pm.
