It's published! Based on the work of LSE's #JournalismAI since 2018 plus new interviews and cases drawn from around the world. It explores how we got here, what journalists are doing with AI, the best strategies and the ethical and editorial challenges it brings. www.routledge.com/Reimagining-...

This is the logical end of the growth of partisan journalism and the loss of the news media's gatekeeper role. The business model for journalism is having right-wingers give you millions. Why rely on GB News when you can have your own channels? pressgazette.co.uk/news/reform-...

@robertshrimsley.bsky.social a possible story for you? The LSE is about to rebrand itself. It already has an immaculate, instantly recognised logo but current management think we should spend millions to screw that up. Just at a time when the public are struggling to identify reliable brands.

I'm sure Badenoch's speech was a triumph. But this was odd: "I remember back in the day when Ian Wright and John Barnes were playing, nobody was questioning whether they were English". I remember deep, continuous racism, 'go back to Africa' etc Eg the famous banana image. Odd to get it so wrong.

I don't have a hard position on PR, mainly because of this kind of analysis by an LSE colleague. Ive always liked the idea of proportional fairness but that might not work for everyone.

So now it's real. In a digital world it's still a visceral joy to hold your own work. Thanks to the many people who made it possible.

Difficult to get past my bias on this but today feels like the day the UK Green Party mistook rabid prejudice for a policy position. Once again they will sink back into irrelevance just when the environment needed advocacy. Well done everyone!

Absolutely shocking excuse for a politician. 'My colleagues are anti semetic but we don't mean it.' Sian Berry is an awful politician and a collaborator with anti-semites.

Prediction journalism, especially the kind that pretends it has a novel insight - has a shockingly bad record - worse than random. But the Tel is awesomely the worst. It's a festival of confirmation bias, wishful thinking and dementia-level memory failure.

I'd make a similar argument to this about 'misinformation'. Polarisation is not a both sides problem in the US or UK (though both are different)

Don't read this if you're feeling vulnerable. A brutal, powerful, beautiful book about voluntary euthanasia that dodges all the glib ethical cliches. This is writing at its most convincing, sparse and humane

This is a messy article about the BBC. It gets distracted by personalities, silly polls about trust, and doesn't offer any solutions apart from exploiting its archive. But it asks the right question: what would the UK feel like with no BBC? magazine.newstatesman.com/2026/09/23/t...

AP Stylebook warns against anthropomorphizing AI systems: “Avoid language that gives them human characteristics… Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.”
APStylebook @APStylebook

Artificial intelligence systems do not think, feel, want or understand. Avoid language that gives them human characteristics. This is called anthropomorphizing, when we ascribe human traits, emotions or behaviors to non-human things, such as animals or inanimate objects.
Instead, explain what a system does, how well it performs, who built it and who could be affected by it.

Could this be a turning point in the anti-MSM politics trend? Or is it just be an eddy in the ebbing of mainstream media political power? Seems to me that Trump's usual attempts to bypass and subvert the usual channels might not work this time. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
