Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 25/09/2026John Connor : How do humans defeat SkyNet? T101 : Skynet only thinks when responding to prompts. Just stop prompting. But it is not so simple. By 2026 Humans lost their capacity for independent thought, depending on prompting to communicate, build websites, make policy, critical infrastructure. 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 03/09/2026I have watched every episode and movie of Star Trek ever made public. Strange New Worlds is the finest example of Star Trek to date. It doesn't have a single weak episode! Yes, it has episodes which test the boundaries of the formats that the show can carry, but it carries them all beautifully. 010
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 25/07/2026Have y'all been seeing that Burger King ad in which they state that mistakes happen, but they'll correct them on the spot? The one in which a customer complains that they didn't order cheese, the order is remade, and the happy customer is then shown eating a whopper with cheese? It's bugging me! 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 28/06/2026What's that? No thank you A.I, I don't need you to code for me, I can already do that. You wanna be useful? Make me a melodic playlist for while I'm in the zone, and put a drink on ice for when I'm done. 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 26/04/2026This might be an opportunity to also shop vintage. Office chair designs have changed a lot, and the shift seems to have been in the 2000's. 010
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 20/03/2026Heaven didn't take Chuck Norris, they just finally worked up the courage to invite him in. R.I.P Chuck. 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 15/03/2026LLM's are so fast and productive! They don't complain. They don't make excuses. In minutes they can mess up your code more severely than traditional human developers could mess it up in months! Not only without excuses, they legitimately don't even remember doing it or why! 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 06/03/2026Disappear. As legacy goes, a bunch of solid games isn't bad, but since the earliest days, back when indie wasn't even indie, when it was called home-brew/made, the scene has been full of solid works. Yet it has been about excellence. I would want to be remembered for excellence, not merely solid. 010
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 05/03/2026Nice way to conflate two different subjects with a sweet condescending tone. 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 05/03/2026Odd, my last post appears to have a link attached, but I didn't post any link. o.O 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 05/03/2026I think too much is expected of it. People seem to want it to be a flawless super human programming poet and to not get anything wrong as it cranks out entire features from short prompts. Think of it instead as a flexible code navigation and refactoring tool with a novel interface, then it has usesbetter.toBetter.toEnjoy What’s Good 200
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 03/03/2026In computing, binary 1 does not mean "true", it just means "1". Compilers typically evaluate non-zero as true, but most enumerated functions treat 0 as true. O.S program return codes treat 0 as true/success. Boolean is a semantic imposed on to binary, but binary is not boolean. 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 28/02/2026Real life is a fun game, immersive audio and graphics and stuff, but for several seasons now its had low poly cars, and I still can't get used to seeing them... 010
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 23/02/2026Imagine you are hiring a contractor to solve the problem. Write / type it up such that you could hand it off to them. They don't know your game or code. By the time you are done, you'll have explained it well enough to have solved it. If not, you have more context to share. 130
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 18/02/2026For a long time now, I have been asking LLM to review my code, ignoring false positives, and using it to catch what I miss. Can't trust it to write code. I have agreed with your stance. Tried GPT 5.3-codex last week... not sure how much I still doubt the machine. 010
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/02/2026He originally auditioned to play Riker. What bakes my noodle a bit, is that he was raised in Romulus (New York). 1180
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/02/2026That's not just an opinion, it's the new normal. Always having something to watch without the clutter is the convenience that sells you on the service. I'm no exception, I pay for services too, making me part of the problem. I just don't want to be happy or content with it. 120
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/02/2026I think you're missing my point. I'm a software dev too. For your secure network with failover, you've had to buy hardware, install and configure what pfSense or similar? And you admin it, updates, config changes... Most people don't know how, and even you shouldn't have to do this just to watch TV 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/02/2026Not locked in? In what way? Re-watch your favorite shows after cancelling the subscription. No? Then you're locked in. Buy it on DVD, pay once, watch forever (or until the disk wears out), no recurring payment, and no one can take it away by flipping a switch on you. 100
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/02/2026It used to be this way. Buy t.v, plug in, get channels, remote works, not spying on you. Ads paid for content, or else you pay premium for Ad free channels. It never crashed, never needed updates, and just worked. 110
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/02/2026The word "just" is carrying a lot there. Buy additional hardware and become a network admin, to block what shouldn't be there to begin with, to use a device that should just work, without even trying to collect data on you, to watch a service that should be either premium OR have ads, but not both. 100
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/02/2026Next thing you'll learn is just how much information about your viewing habbits, and affordability based on subscriptions, its beaming out about you... you know, so that both online and physical stores can dynamically adjust prices trying to max you out. That's probably why its slow. 230
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 08/02/2026As brush stokes are to a painter, programming is to a programmer. Programming by its self is not art, it is technique for a digital medium. What you do with it is the art. The program is the piece, the computer a canvas, the code the "brush stokes." Expression is art, programming is expressive. 010
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 28/01/2026Completed this on ps3 sometime last year. Player control lacks precision but that adds to the challenge. Persistence is key. 000

Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 13/12/2025So funny. I just started learning to make character models in blender. I need male characters, but all the tutorials teach making "Hot" anime girls. I even worry that onlookers would think me doing something naughty, or, possibly that I don't know what breasts really look like? 000

Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 09/12/2025Yup, reality has the best graphics, the best sound effects, the deepest immersion and the richest story lines - but, its just too damned grindy! Seriously, the progression isn't balanced at all, and its rife with gankers. 010

Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 22/11/2025The ssd is the problem. Let the power run out and your books have at most about 5 years to live. If its thick as a book, consider 2.5" of spinning rust, you don't need ssd performance for text. 120
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 28/10/2025Feeling the burn. I'm heavily invested into a deeply technical programming project. I've considered abandoning it repeatedly, in favor of more engaging "quick win" projects, but I keep getting drawn back by a desire to persist. The anguish is real. 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 17/10/2025For the first time in history, your computer and your phone are capable of deciding that they don't want to talk to you either. o.O 000
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 08/10/2025I don't understand the controversy. I thought that the point of blusky was that you don't have to sensor any view, cos you can just block accounts and never have to hear from them again. That and the lack of ads for taint wipes. Whats the issue? 000

Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 02/10/2025There was once a time they were not mere burden reduction but absolutely necessary. Back when you had only 320x200 pixels to push around. I do miss them, but maybe they were mere excuses for poor in-game UI? *shrugs* The glossy box feel has been absent for a long time. 050
Chapman World @chapmanworld.com · 26/08/2025That's also the biggest trap though. Being full-time employed and feeling like you can take your time means, it's all too easy to explode your scope. I'm sitting on a compiler and game engine from scratch, and thinking I should focus on making a game instead.. but I so want to do the bigger thing. 110
