Real life is a fun game, immersive audio and graphics and stuff, but for several seasons now its had low poly cars, and I still can't get used to seeing them...

Doge grabbed the money, under it goes, where it ends up... Lets see what the current administration does with all the savings, I'm sure they'll be transparent about it.

You've been writing some deeply technical or low level code, focusing hard, and finally it comes together. The output of your program isn't particularly interesting or impressive, but you know the work that went into it and it feels amazing. Only another coder could understand. Sharing my latest...
Output from a windows executable generated by an experimental linker, which displays "ChapmanWorld Rocks!" in ASCII art.

More thread balancing, but figured I'd put this to the test with some load. 50,006 tiny cube meshes, simulated once and rendered twice per frame. Not sure the render FPS, I'm not measuring it yet, but the engine is holding up reasonably well under load, given that it's OpenGL! Bed time, good night!

Happy Thanks Giving! With the holiday and having a family, I have very little programing time today. Another hour invested, and not much visual change, but I tuned the threading model to ensure no CPU cycles are burned by either the render or simulation threads...

I know that it's very unproductive, but as I make each tiny little incremental change to this rendering engine, I can't help but to stop and play with it.

Posting a reply to this today, inspired me to get out the screw driver. And now, SHE LIVES! This one is mint, not even missing one of the crumby plastic PCB clips. It does need a new keyboars membrane, but otherwise in perfect condition. The new crown jewel in my retro collection.

Almost. (This one has 'the fault' though. Still working to repair)

Not a whole lot of free time to work on it this week, so it doesn't look like much progress. That said, being able to render different views of the same object in separate windows is a key feature of my platform abstraction layer, so it's worth the time I have spent!

My latest project, 1 of 2. I'm going to build a small game, and maybe this prototype will become an "engine" of sorts. This is the beginnings of the renderer, window and scene managers, with mouse, keyb, partial game-pad support. I give you, the rainbow cube.
