We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers. The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

I don't rely on AI to do stuff. Most of the time, I solve coding problems on my own. Using documentation online. When using AI, I mostly play around with it for fun to see how it would solve something. Asking it something about Godot, it often tries to use functions that aren't a part of Godot xD

Machines (Computers) only do what they are told to do? Who would have guessed? Honestly, the whole "AI" thing is way too overrated/overhyped. As much as "AI" can be helpful, it stills often Hallucinate, especially when you ask it something very specific.

I spent like 3 days trying to load a texture onto the procedural mesh... Material kept showing as plain White... I just clicked on the object and noticed I set a Material Override with Plain White Albedo Colour... I feel like an Idiot right now xD #Godot #IndieGameDev #SoloGameDev

OMG! Thank You! I always use Static Typing and Dynamic Typing a lot of times is just annoying. Remembering which type certain Variable is or which Type is returned by functions is frankly annoying. Didn't know there was a way to force GDScript to use Static Typing!
