The problem with the 10% self-checkout discount in NYC is this: 1. Stores would find a way to cut costs in other ways. Either firing a cashier, or doing away with all self checkouts and not hiring anyone to take up the slack. In the first scenario, someone (or multiple people) lose their job.

I should also point out that the reason ALL AI agents get into your messages, steal your data, etc., is because there are no laws expressly forbidding it. Meta doesn't want to be at the forefront of the tech wave. They want to steal as much data as possible before someone makes that illegal.

Since ai started being a problem, I have warned people not to feed their writing into it. That it would train on whatever data you gave it. I was told "it doesn't work like that!!!!!!!" of course it did then. of course it does now. LLMs are in the business of stealing data.

There's no such thing as an "AI agent going rogue." They only do what they're told. You teach an agent a specific method of hacking then tell it not to report any of its illegal activity, it looks like it's "gone rogue." in reality, it's still right on the rails.

I decided to get a steam cleaner to clean my parrot cages. Combined with a little vinegar, it'll be perfect for disinfecting. Let me tell you though. The bot glazing on Amazon is out of control. Some of the comments for one steam cleaner were exactly the same.

Honestly the highlight of my month is watching scalpers throw whiny baby tantrums over the Pokemon 30th set. The best thing about it is they think Pokemon Company owes it to them to make cards rare and print fewer sets, as if Pokemon was totally in on the grift.
