Real quick here: you, the former health actuary and now sports guy are saying with confidence that there is nothing unknowable about the way LLMs operate, correct? That is what you said to me earlier:

Dr. Pink wants you to know that one of his seven PhDs is in cryptography & social systems. #chighdesertweenies
Dr. Pink, a tricolor (black, tan, and white) dachshund mix, stands on a quilted sofa cover atop a brown couch in a living room, with a black Anker power bank and a Tovala oven mitt on a table in the foreground. The background includes a patterned pillow, a custom-made lamp with multiple bulbs, a framed abstract painting, hanging plants, and a slatted screen near a door.

This is so incredibly fucked up. The transphobia and anti-semitism in this image is abhorrent and bigoted, and it infuriates me that is coming from a Black woman, who should fucking know better. Apparently she was the 2008 Green Party nominee? Jesus fucking Christ. 🤮
A cartoon graphic on a post by Cynthia McKinney PhD @cynthiamckinney shows a rainbow star with portraits and text. The title reads “WHO IS BEHIND THE RISE IN TRANSGENDERISM?” with claims about a 4000% explosion in kids identifying as transgender and other statements, alongside four QR codes. Inside the star are images labeled with names and roles: Magnus Hirschfeld described as a Jewish sexologist, Mara Kiesling (founder) with National Center for Transgender Equality, Eliza Byard (director) with GLSEN, Eli Erlick (founder) with TSER Trans Student Educational Resources, Sylvia Rivera Law Project, Jillian Weiss/Michael Silverman (founders) with TLDEF Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund, and Dean Spade (founder). Blue six-pointed stars appear near each person, and text at the bottom mentions the Talmud recognizing eight genders and Jewish communities welcoming 7-year-old transgender kids.

A person wearing glasses and a white ribbed shirt lies on a couch with several small dogs resting on their body, including a black dog on the chest, a brown dog near the shoulder, a tan dog near the midsection, a white dog near the legs, and another dark dog near the hip; the background shows a railing and a kitchen with dark cabinets.A black dog rests on a brown couch covered with a gray quilted protector, beside a blue-and-white patterned pillow and a gray pillow with geometric designs. In the background, a black chair shows partially visible text that may read “SECRET LAB,” and a framed picture hangs near a curtain with red leaf decorations of uncertain type. Two brown dogs rest on a light-colored armchair draped with a gray blanket, near a dark wall with hanging glass bulbs and a patterned curtain. A smartphone interface shows a Google logo above a gray bubble reading “tweet like bluesky user chaosgreml.in.” Below, text reads: “dear @atproto.ia plz launch a feature where I can write a tiny tech pun about AT Protocol or app development, but it automatically formats itself into a mild existential crisis about old Twitter and communal software infrastructure. maybe I need to build this. If you want, tell me: • Should I lean more into indie app building infrastructure? • Or dial up the puns and tech exhaustion?” The top bar displays 14:43, a muted bell, a blue arrow in a black pill, signal bars, Wi-Fi, and a battery at 15 percent; an X icon sits at the top right.

Just in case you were unaware: I’m a furry. A particularly deadly one, at that. 🦛🐻
A hippobear sits back on its haunches, filling most of the frame. Its head is tipped up and its jaws are cranked open around a bundle of leafy greens, blunt tusks riding the heavy lower jaw. The face is thick creased hide, gray-brown and armored, small round ears set high on a skull built to crush. Below the neck it’s bear: dense fur over a chest like a boulder, one foreleg braced in the dirt, claws long enough to open ground. Every part of it is loaded. Hippos run down anything that annoys them, bears do the same over rougher country, and this body inherited both. It’s eating salad. That’s a choice it’s making.

Please send a bunch of love to Miss Paris. I know she’ll be back to being her bubbly self real soon. The hardest part has been seeing her so quiet today.
A brown dog wearing a blue fleece sweater sits on a dark quilted couch and looks toward the camera. A person’s arm in a gray sleeve with red marks is partially visible beside the dog, and a patterned pillow and tripod with binoculars are in the background, possibly near a window.A brown dog with upright ears rests its front paws on a brown couch arm, looking forward; behind it on a gray surface lies a dark tablet with a faint white mark that may be a logo, and further back is an uncertain green object with pink detail.Three dogs sleep on a tan couch: a tan dog curled on a dark gray blanket, a black dog stretched beside it, and a white dog resting on a light pillow. A partial leg in blue appears at the bottom right. In the background, a container labeled “TOYS” is partially visible, along with indistinct household items.

Today’s been a rough day. Felt like shit most of the day because my poor doggo Paris got ganged up on by the other dogs and we had to bandage her up :( And then I just sucked at remembering the things my partner has asked me to remember and I’m behind on so many things. ADHD blows. Trauma blows.
A brown dog sleeps under cream and white blankets on a bed, wearing a bandage on both front arms. A gray headboard is behind it against a pale wall with a small white device, and a white curtain with a gray plant pattern is to the right. A person’s arm with a dark band is partially visible in the foreground.

Or things like this that seem so disconnected from the professional world of work - it’s been a very long time since I’ve ever seen or heard this be the actual advice people get about what should be in a resume or portfolio:
Text excerpt discussing resumes and portfolios: the point isn't just to list credentials but to hint at who a person is, inspired by their arc or their italicized human characteristics and capabilities—are they determined, did they start building silly stuff in neopets and work up to programming, or create projects based on personal interests?

Unfortunately, as I reread it, I keep finding things framed as LLM-related but are patterns that existed before LLMs, like this: These are sales emails! Form letters! As old as time!
Text excerpt from a document stating: 'Like Robin, I have been getting a lot of incoming emails that follow an LLM-like formula of observation about me and how it could be relevant to some product + ask that i try the product. A lot of these seem LLM-generated.'

It’s always a very disorienting experience when you ask people if their clear mocking and condescension help them achieve their goals, and then they seem to accuse you of doing what they did?

Not for us neurodivergents!!! I’ve been saying for a while that LLMs were heralding the time of the ADHDer (and I suspect, more specifically, the AuDHDer): news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4834...
Interestingly, the Hacker News thread has gathered a number of comments from people with ADHD who are finding agents help them achieve the focus they've been missing:

"... for me (also ADHD) it's kind of the opposite. I'm finishing side projects for the first time ever because I can actually get them working before I get bored of them"
"As someone with ADHD I feel like AI is a salve for my mind. I used to listen to intense EDM while working. Now I sit in silence and talk to my agents. I maintain inbox zero. I absorb and comment across all relevant projects, even outside my team. I literally feel like I have a support team for the first time."
"For those of us prone to hyperfocus, working with AI can provide the kinds of stimulation we crave. I can hardly remember a time when I've felt more engaged with my work, more productive, and more badass."

This a poor reading of what the article says. There is no causal link at this point, there are possible benefits but even in the article the experts say, “we can’t prove these things are linked”
A screenshot of text on a white background. The text reads "Time to Prescribe? Not Yet, Experts Say. While calling for prospective studies, Orland and panelists at the briefing said it's too soon to start prescribing GLP-1 drugs as a means of slowing disease progression. "This is provocative data that we want to be really exploring very carefully. It doesn't apply to all patients, all cancers," said ASCO President Eric Small, MD, a prostate cancer specialist at the University of California San Francisco Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. "I'm not convinced that the data is there for prostate cancer." "Not yet," said Jennifer Ligibel, MD, of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. "The drugs are really interesting, and there is no doubt that they have changed the landscape of weight loss, but I don't think we have enough cancer-specific activity."
