I made the leap from WhatsApp about 4 years ago. People may not leave those apps themselves but you’ll be surprised how many will install an app of your choice,to communicate with you. Also, the inbuilt messages app on both android and iPhone will work as a substitute.Both parties need to enable RCS

Hiked up once (cloudy at the top) and went up a second time in the cable car specifically to get the view of the Zugspitze on a clear day 😄 It’s a long but not difficult walk but like everything the views make it worthwhile. Mostly tarmac road and gravel paths to the top. Fellhorn is beautiful too

The feeling of JOY I just experienced, clearing out the tea cupboard and discovering that I still have a tin full of teabags (from last trip home at Christmas) and no longer have to suffer what Germans sell under the name of ‘black tea’, is the highlight of my week so far. Maybe even the year! 😅

And this is why I bought myself a brick. I put my addictive sad-making machine into Time Out and that simple action has improved my mental well-being no end.

A brick magnet attached to a fridge. The brick blocks any apps and websites that you choose to block and can only be unblocked by physically touching your phone to the brick.

None of my photos captured the eclipse itself but this one was taken at 20:13, which was our ‘peak’ eclipse moment and the sun was a thin crescent moon shape. What was so clearly visible through the glasses was not at all visible without them! Just the light looks slightly different than usual
