iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

It REALLY feels like bizzaro world sometimes when there are lots of "luxury" things that are currently more affordable for "reasons" than items much more important on the Maslow's hierarchy. (The concave penii havers trying to make up for their geometric weaknesses with rockets don't help.)

:slowly losing his mind over this: Words should have as little meaning and weight as possible without context. WITH context, they can be weighty, terrible (or lovely) things. Without context, they ought to just be a word. Neither good nor bad. Punish a person, but leave the damn words alone. >:|

Another classic, not sure if I've already posted this one here.

The image is a six panel black and white comic.

Panel 1 - a girl sits at her desk in front of a computer, looking disheartened. She says, "I dont know if I should post this art, who would even want to see it?"

Panel 2- A new person bursts through the door in the background with a loud BAM

Panel 3- The new person pushes the girl out of the way, smushing her face in the process, while slamming their fist down on the keyboard.

Panel 4- The computer shows that the art has been posted

Panel 5- The person makes direct eye contact with the girl while pushing their finger against their own phone screen

Panel 6- A motion blur is added to the last panel, enhancing the impact of the new notifications on the new post. It reads, "(Friend) Liked Post just now" Followed by "(Friend) commented 'I FUCKING LOVE THIS AND I LOVE U'"

Underneath the last panel is a watermark that reads, Shubbabang

<several long deleted rants later> I think I remember something if what you're saying, which...given how infrequently old laws are repealed (vs. papered over with new ones), it might still be that way somewhere/sometimes.

There are a lot of laws that seem like madness to me, but the one that is/was in Japan, where IF you had menu/food photos, they had better damn well match the food, was a good one.

Can't speak for everyone, but at least for those of us who have been on the Ronenn Haustoria train for a while, we know to hang on till the next station, even if it takes a while to get there. You're good boss, let us know if we can help. :ronennlove:

Hot chocolate is a strong contender, there's also the "Bedchamber" from Coffee Talk (steamed milk, cinnamon, and honey) that is REALLY cozy (if you like those flavors). I add just a smidgen of fresh ground nutmeg too, but that's cuz I'm a sucker for nutmeg.

It blows my mind how most all of these things are using databases somewhere in the backend, and we can't just...write queries. Like. I get it, normies want the front-end, fine. But you'd THINK power users could just...write a query. Regex at LEAST (and I hate regex).

Batman Cass and Robin (or Nightwing!) Steph would have been a fun timeline. (Both of them as Batgirl is also good...or...I guess they'd eventually both be Batwoman?)

I think I made that argument at my regular convention once, and that someone more connections than me could make an excellent remixed abridged series and/or extended AMV. (I...am surprised it hasn't been done yet, tbh. I think I HAVE seen jokes about the puzzle, but that's it.)

I REALLY need to do a de-dupe run at some point...or rebuild my storage array with ZFS, or both. Last time I did a thing, it was a zillion year sha1sum loop/run that was definitely not the best way, but DID make sense to a version of me running on like, 3 hours of sleep.

I'd say "You'd think they'd have learned from tumblr" but then tumblr should have learned from fanfiction.net or LJ. I think the newsgroups are still the wild west, if you have the necessary arcana to reach them. The Eternal September really racking up that indirect body count.

My Twitter account ALSO got banned for being a bot, I submitted a polite appeal and eventually get let back in, in case you haven't already tried that. It's an LLM reviewing most appeals, so seemingly NOT raging at it helps.

I feel like I am always having the opposite conversation. "We need to use a newer kernel/mesa/drivers, or we have to compile everything ourselves, taint the kernel, and hope." "But it works." "It works _NOW_, it won't when we buy new hardware." "Then we keep the same hardware."

... try to run them natively in OBS via the VST 2.x Plugin (which is built-in). Sometimes that guy can't handle their UIs though. There's also the atkAudio plugin for OBS ( github.com/atkAudio/Plu... ), but I don't have personal experience there, so I can't personally vouch.

120

epyon_avenger @chaos-axiom.com · 17/05/2026

Longer term, I'm keeping an eye on Pipeweaver: github.com/pipeweaver/p... Shorter term, you can pair EasyEffects ( github.com/wwmm/easyeff... ) with various plugins (your distro probably has lsp-plug.in packaged, but if not, you could install manually) to do things ahead of OBS, or (cont.)

120

epyon_avenger @chaos-axiom.com · 16/05/2026

Probably two-part question/idea. 1. Does the EQ NEED to be in OBS? (Like, if it's for games, probably yes, if it's for the Mic could do the EQ-ing before OBS.) 2. Have you looked into VST 2.x Plugins? Most of the ones that play nice with reaper on Linux will play nice with OBS on Linux too.

:has tried barking up that tree before to little benefit: Though I will say, your patience and providing an easy to do experiment is a lot more than most try. (I mean that sincerely, if anything was going to work, short of a huge name VTuber crusading, that'd have been it.)

Belated (sorry, long day) Happy Birthday! Hope you had a good one, and/or will have a good one in the near future. Or not, make it the whole week, the whole month. It's the dumbest timeline, wring every last bit of joy out the occasion you can. (And also hope you're well, and will continue to be.)

I feel you, I've been working in technology for decades. First they said they'd replace us by offshoring all the work. That failed. Then they said they'd do it with outsourcing. That failed. Now it's AI, and that'll fail too. The valleys suck, but it's not forever. Hang in there.
