I know they say reading is a good thing to do before you go to sleep, bit not for me… I am very much awake and wanting to continue reading. I have put my book down though in the hopes that I can get sleepy now

And now it is time to rest and read!

The 8yo was excited about being given the tasks of cleaning the toilets 🤷‍♀️ He insists he has to be the only person who cleans them. And I definitely ain’t gonna argue with him on that

Partner left scissors opened on the floor… I nearly stood on them! Just used his full name to tell him off. Especially given he’s constantly reminding the 8yo to not do the same 😂

31 out of 50 bees “collected” on the app just today! That’s after nearly 3 hours of walking (although we had a lunch break at some point) And the 8yo finally wanted to pose with some bees!

The 8yo is now transfixed on collecting them all in the app!

Doing the Bee Sculpture hunting in the city 8yo wouldn’t pose with the first bee. But for a change the partner would 😂

I just took a chunk out of the side of my leg with my fingernail as I got changed for bed 🫠 Now my side (which I normally sleep on) is really sore

They would have inevitably said she was “fine” to work after a year or 2. But having those 4 years meant she had gotten herself feeling better. It meant she didn’t have a breakdown again. I just can’t with these fucking people punching down on those that need support

Hearing National say those with “mild or moderate” mental health issues shouldn’t be on the benefit… My Mum had a break down. It took her 4 years to recover to the point she could be employed again. These changes would force someone like her to get into work quicker or have their benefit cut 🤬

We created gyms because modern day work no
longer required physical activity. Without exercise,
our muscles atrophy.
I predict we'll need gyms for our brains too, once Al

I’m biased as he’s my best mate, but I love watching him teach my 8yo the basics of music (so am assuming he’s just as good with a classfull of kids too 😂) But shout out to Mat Hoyes! He also helping produced this which is now on Audioculture too ☺️ audioculture.co.nz/articles/cou...

“Frankly, I don’t care” epitomises Luxon’s time as PM. #nzpol Some of the things Luxon doesn’t care about: Homelessness NZers dying in hospital while waiting to be seen. People dying on the streets in winter People starving People being made homeless by no cause evictions Pay equity Racism Lies

After a little sluething I remembered that there has normally been a sign advertising Chapman Taylors there. I already know the owner of that pub is very anti Left. A quick search of his name comes up with interviews he’s done on The Platform. So maybe him?

Just had a catch up with Mum… Last week she wasn’t that keen on the Greens having “too much” power in their coalition with Labour. This week she’s hoping Marama is made Deputy Prime Minister and Chloe Finance Minister I didn’t want to question the change in mind in case she changes it again 😂

Playing a game that requires concentration with the 8yo is extremely difficult when he is in a noisy mood Doing maths in my head while he sings the Time Warp was difficult 🫠

Greens: we want to spend a lot of money making the rail network throughout the country better National: we want to spend a lot of money making one road in one part of the country better I know which I’d prefer!

The 8yo was surprised at how much hair was taken off. I reminded him that I said he should have a haircut weeks ago 😂 I’m still amazed at how grown up he looks after a haircut!

I haven’t been able to read a physical book in a while (apart from the chapter books I read with the 8yo) But I’m nearly 100 pages into Grant Robertson’s memoir, which I started reading late this afternoon, and really don’t want to put it down!

A year ago today we got the keys to our house… I’m looking forward to the Summer and that I finally have some outdoor seats that let me sit on our balcony to enjoy our view… Now I just need the sun!

Thoroughly enjoyed hearing Witi Ihimaera today! Stoked to get a pic with him. And I find it interesting to compare the signatures of his I have. These books were signed about 12 years apart I really feel like I need to re-read The Whale Rider before diving into this new one though
A woman is standing next to a man. They are holding the books The Star Path2 books open beside each other, one book is slightly on top of the other. They are both addressed to Chantalle and include Witi Ihimaera’s signature with a swirl as well

Looking forward to hearing Witi Ihimaera talk about his new book. Also love that before he talks he’s walking through the crowd saying kia ora and thank you for coming ❤️
A digital screen on a wall. It includes the words “Return to the world of The Whale Rider with Witi Ihimaera Smiler”, next to that is the front over of his book The Star Path, and a portrait of Witi

I remember my Mum constantly dying her hair when I was younger. When I started getting my greys, I just couldn’t be arsed doing that! I kinda love that I’m lazy when it comes to my hair (plus it’s quite expensive to keep dying it!)
