Very cool paper from @miaarundel.bsky.social in my group thinking about rewilding in the form of a dialogue between an ecologist and social scientist. I've never seen a paper in this format before, have a look! 🐺 🧸🦬 🌍

What if I told you that what’s most “essential” to essential oils might be the informal workers in out-of-the-way places like Madagascar who ensure a steady supply of plant-derived therapeutics during public health crises?

Media is straight up refusing to cover any of the protests, and actively misreporting the basics of the law-breaking across the administration. Normal people who just casually pass by a few minutes of CNN in a week haven't heard *anything* about the worst attack on government since the Civil War.

Does anyone have the original paper that the "80% of words biodiversity is protected by Indigenous people" statement comes from? This is the paper that describes how that is wrong... I'm looking for the *original* paper that everyone was pulling the stat comes from. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

No basis for claim that 80% of biodiversity is found in Indigenous territories
A much-cited statistic about how much of the world’s biodiversity is under Indigenous stewardship is unsupported — and could harm the cause it is meant to support.
