As we send a Black man and a woman around the moon for the first time, let’s remember the trailblazing Black woman Katherine Johnson, whose brilliant calculations were critical to the initial Apollo 11 mission. Her work spanned 33 years at NASA, including contributions to the Space Shuttle program.
