I legit thought they already had and that anyone still calling them NY/NJ was just holding onto the past name. Their logo only has the NY. Any references to them in press releases only call them "Gotham FC". The only place I actually still see NJ/NJ still used is in their web listing.

My partner & Boston Legacy super fan, Jenny, is planning to run the Chicago Marathon on a charity bib. As part of the fundraising efforts, we are doing a World Cup Squares game. Short Story is $20/square. 2 winners; 1st - $400, 2nd - $200. Rest goes to her charity. 1/2

I agree with just about all of your takes on this. But, I don't think they were aiming the stadium for FIFA. It's only going to be a 20,000 seat stadium and that doesn't meat any of the FIFA requirements. Unless you are saying that they wanted to take advantage of the goodwill generated by FIFA
