The temporality of the book is such that it has been living in my headspace rent-free for almost ten years--I feel relieved and liberated to send it off into the world👋 As of today, the book is available online (for free!) and in print (UCPSAVE30 for discount (www.ucpress.edu/books/city-i...)

Typesets are in✨🥳 and I'm starting to feel that jitter -- this is the LAST chance to make changes before everything is finally set in print. 🫢💦 I am also elated to learn that two scholars whose works have profoundly influenced my thinking throughout this project have written endorsements!

Today on our blog, we talk with Sarah Sharma about her new book "Insufferable Tools" and how the feminist techno-logics she proposes differs from Big Tech Feminism. buff.ly/ElHBMCP
Cover of Insufferable Tools: Feminism Against Big Tech by Sarah Sharma. The cover features an emoji face on the body of a man in a suit. The emoji is wearing sunglasses and laughing. The background fades from bright green to yellow. All text is black, all-caps, and sans-serif. The main title spans the top half of the cover, and the subtitle is below it. The author's name is at the bottom on either side of the suit.

How often does one receive a hand-written note from an archivist? 🥹👀 It tells me “there is a also a selected list of housing facilities toward the end of this volume” after I just requested a copy of TOC. I’m also struck by the research navigation sys available here @National Diet Library in Japan
