My daughter has just started year 10 in UK and is reading Ghost Boys as a text. She's AuDHD and is very driven by social justice & the boys & families involved in this has horrified & appalled her & caused her to ask many questions & do her own research. As did the book Refugee that I read to her. X

Dividends paid to UK citizens taxed at rates of 8.75% to 39.35%, lower rate than wages. Dividends mostly go to the top 1%. £6bn a year raised if dividends taxed at the same rate as wages. More if NIC levied. Unlike the US, France, Germany, no UK tax levied on dividends paid to foreign investors.

My daughter - 9 at the time - would have become a lost generation as her undiagnosed ADHD and autism had led to her wanting to end her own life. She's 14 & still rebuilding. What she & are going through is brutal. I make no apology for her needing support. Nor my son. I won't see them pilloried.
