Yep I concur with a wry smile emoji. And nowadays when I read history, I ask myself, "Why did you ever think that "progress" meant we could leave the crazy behind?"

It's a non-choice, isn't it? I won't vote for Republicans, never never never. Btw, Libertarians are Republicans. I am not a Democrat (how this insular bunch of wealth management professionals got labeled woke or liberal is crazy - is the world crazy?) So what. I will vote for Democrats.

Ideocracy is an Idea Misspelled
Fans of the band Bury Me Standing will know from whence I thieved the title of today's post. According to Gralie Bohe's novel, The Boy in the Yellow Leatherette Portmanteau, Dante Jivanadalli originally wanted to call their first album of the new century Ideocracy is an Idea Mispelled, but Josue Baluende was emphatically against it. Teri Ainsworth and Ross Kerrinza also disliked it, but Jivanadalli remained stubborn.

I feel obliged to give more info regarding this mysterious door. This is actually the entrance to a carpentry workshop. There's a good chance the door has two handles simply because of good ol' Icelandic humour.

What’s the weirdest movie you’ve ever watched? View all responses Oh! Just last night I experienced one of those weird dislocations movies can create - maybe not the weirdest movie I have ever watched, but it is still worthy of a note here. The movie was Naayak, a Telugu language film from India. I understand the weirdness comes from the cultural differences between Telugu and English/US cinema, but the weirdness was still an undeniable delight.

It could drive you crazy, knowing that, this November, millions of people will vote for their own oppressors. Except I learned many years ago, from a wise woman, how people learn to love their abusers. And it is not because they're stupid, that's too easy an answer.

The Memo Pilchard I know an answer to a question. This life has become a dream without shadows. Somewhere, I am awake. Somewhere, my hands smell like steel and rust. Somewhere, I am climbing up the Eiffel tower in an early morning mist. Somewhere, I am walking on a frozen river in 3-inch mother-of-pearl heels. Somewhere, I am a Slavic peasant prying a dried lump of pony shit from my boot heel.

Earliest memory of media that scared me. Going to our small branch library. All the books in one big room. From the children section I could look across to the mystery section for adults. There were skulls on the spines of the books. Rows of them, filling the shelves. Death was in those books.

Scapegracery
For jackalope families, the practice of rolling around in a big heap of fallen leaves is an autumn tradition known as the Scapegracery Frolic. On this third day of October, you are invited to celebrate your escape from grace and your escape from the machine. Most Inultarumet tribes use the word "scapegracery" (from the English word "scapegrace") for the concept of the holiday, but of course the festivities must have their own set of names in the languages of the Inultaru.

No one currently associated with the archive knows which newspaper is or was indicated by the abbreviation "DB". My own note will read "Unsure if this is an actual misprint. The discoloration may be the result of improper storage at the archive.

A Poltergeist Hidden in the Flowers
Tattoo flash, no. 51, "A poltergeist hidden in the flowers" Today is Michaelmas. Today I had hoped to describe why, according to Jackalopian customs, Saint Michael is the archangel who gets assigned all the shit jobs by his boss.1 That post has tangled itself with Jackalopian tales about the durable but doomed relationship between Michael and the Morning Star, aka Astarte, Venus, Lucifer, Chak Ek and Yotrildochet, among many other names.

Sometimes curiosity can be tedious. I had to look up the name of the Rolling Stone author of the Choosin' Texas thing, so that I would know that I can safely ignore Marissa R. Moss as a card-carrying member of the Flat Earth Society who cannot imagine a world larger than Billboard's Top 100.
