ALT: Jr NTR's Epic Animal Scene from RRR Movie Interval

For jackalope families, the practice of rolling around in a big heap of fallen leaves is an autumn tradition known as the Scapegracery Frolic. On this third day of October, you are invited to celebrate your escape from grace and your escape from the machine. Most Inultarumet tribes use the word "scapegracery" (from the English word "scapegrace") for the concept of the holiday, but of course the festivities must have their own set of names in the languages of the Inultaru.

A former archivist at the Geranium Lake Properties Animist Sanctuary wrote a note attached to this image: "Discolored misprint from the DB published on Feb. 1rst Rabbit Rabbit Day." No one currently associated with the archive knows which newspaper is or was indicated by the abbreviation "DB". My own note will read "Unsure if this is an actual misprint. The discoloration may be the result of improper storage at the archive.

The date at the top of today's Geranium Lake Properties comic is the first day of the fourth week in the Procession of Entropy. November 11 is Katadesmostermymy, or Cursing Day, in the JMWL1 calendar. From notes we found in the Black Oxford Notebook (BON), we have learned there are several days that are eminently good for cursing people in the classical sense.

Today I had hoped to describe why, according to Jackalopian customs, Saint Michael is the archangel who gets assigned all the shit jobs by his boss.1 That post has tangled itself with Jackalopian tales about the durable but doomed relationship between Michael and the Morning Star, aka Astarte, Venus, Lucifer, Chak Ek and Yotrildochet, among many other names.

It has been my intention to write about the Inultaru's concept of Michaelmas, the Feast Day of the Angels, for many years. I hope 2026 will be the year I accomplish this feat, but my post for September 29 is a mess right now, so we will have to see if I can bash it into some kind of coherence in the time I have left.

How do you write what people actually want to read? View all responses I don't know and I have never wanted to know. There are reasons, I suppose there are even good reasons, to write what other people want to read, but then who would write what I want to read? No one but me. Why should I abandon myself - so many people have abandoned me, a world of people have abandoned me, none of them concerned, not in the least, with what I say, with the stories I tell.

Today marks the official arrival of Autumn. We tried to make a post for the Autumnal Equinox but this post is the story that came without badgering the magic into the shape of the day. Today's entry is not an equinox thing, we already suffered that defeat in our previous post. This story is simply a tale that required to be told.

The first rule for pronouncing Inultarumek words is this: They are spelled phonetically for English speakers, except when they are not, and when they are not, your guess is as good as mine. I do not have to guess about the pronunciation of name Tinnamcaiw because I have instructions plainly written by Yost in the Black Oxford Notebook (BON), which some people insist on calling the Black Oxford Workbook (BOW is an appellation used nowhere in the records of the archive).

This is the finishing post to a part of our zine project dubbed "A Dozen Pages". That is not a title, this part of the project has no title, these twelve pages were my contribution to a group project, the result of which was the abstract graphic novel A Kick in the Eye (2013). I will be sharing more abstract comic pages (for you to download and print!) at some point in the future, but right now I am not sure what I will post.

The Inultaru can be quite casual about observing their big harvest festivals in September. The two most important celebrations are Doshennooskeyma and the Festival of the Tents, which you might think are Jackalopian versions of Dozynki (the Polish harvest festival, known as Obzhynky in Ukraine, or Dažynki in Belarus) and Sukkot (a Jewish tradition). The Inultaru holidays are not quite analogous to their Slavic and Judaic counterparts.

The volunteers at the Geranium Lake Properties Archive and Animist Sanctuary, under the leadership of Oakleigh Clement-Greytinbark1, have misappropriated a list made by the wife of the former apprentice to the former archivist. The wife's name was Nutblossom. Please do not ask me what was up with her parents, maybe they were born-again hippies? I never dredged up the courage or impudence to ask.

Today is the last day of Ghost Month. Today we are encouraging the hungry ghosts, the restless ghosts, the wandering ghosts to return to Aplionta Parratiskum, before Til and Kee lock the Gates to Hell. Escorting grumpy ghosts to their afterlife might be like trying to herd feral cats to, well, anywhere. We can feel fortunate that this is not our task.

The Labor Day holiday should be a day off from work for all us worker bees and toads, so today's post is an easy-peasy lemon -squeezy retrospective of five favorite album covers by Wm. Yost. The five were chosen by the volunteers and staff of the Geranium Lake Properties Archive and Animist Sanctuary, members of Albopata, and a few visitors to the archive who graciously took the time to give us their input.

The season is changing. I feel the press of autumn on the threshold of my world. Summer is lingering, and will linger for a while yet. I can appreciate that, but I am glad for the fall. I was looking for a particular image for an upcoming post about the Ondrusek Marian Butler Intelligence Test, but I found this Geranium Lake Properties comic instead. I need to post it today - the date on the comic is too fortuitous to ignore - on August 16 there was a full moon eclipse over Los Angeles in 1989. I am not sure we will be able to view the full moon tonight.
