And certainly hasn't caused an aggregate decrease in employment. More games made, though. 120

Reposted by Chad BarbTom @moll.dev · 05/10/2026the gamer entitlement is fucking insane. they're yelling at a developer who has spent a decade of his time writing Dolphin and PPSSPP for using Claude to build a prototype. the same people who don't pay for their emulator, certainly don't pay for ROMs are entitled to bully developers now? 724120
Chad Barb @chadbarb.bsky.social · 05/10/2026There was backlash against home computers in the 80s and early 90s! I had teachers who didn't want assignments done with them, said they'd rot your brain, were a fad, or thought the computer did all the actual writing or whatever (I guess they were 40 years ahead of their time on that last one.) 050

Chad Barb @chadbarb.bsky.social · 19/09/2026yep, DX10 basically killed the consistent versioning since it became programmatic/shaders at that point. DX11 was some new architectural catch up; and DX12 switched to "modern" resource management. Hoping we get a DX13 that's a less fucked-up DX12 one of these days ("No Renderer API" concept, etc.) 040
