As Autism awareness increases, there is an odd bit of educational history I will share. "Gifted" classes were long used as repositories for learners on the spectrum. Which is not to say they were not gifted--they were. Educators were simply not equipped for their styles of learning. 1/2

I surely does risk seeming unsympathetic to Jewish plight. However, Israel is a nation and not one above criticism or censure. Further, based on the genocide in Gaza it is very very uncomfortable to see world leaders apparently engaging in an allegiance ritual.

The country’s institutions are badly neglected. Maintenance is not a romantic concept, but it’s the only one that works. Example: Public libraries, parks and offices ought to be a point of civic pride. Nearly things around which we rally.
